Role & responsibilities
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the payments domain only (banks or fintechs).
- Hands-on experience with NPCI products UPI, IMPS, RuPay, NACH, AePS, BBPS (or relevant subset).
- Proven experience in integration, certification, and implementation of payment products.
- Working knowledge of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and its practical implementation in a BFSI/fintech context.
- Must be available to join immediately.
- Willing to be based in office in Mumbai for the duration of the engagement.
Preferred candidate profile
- rack and manage the end-to-end certification lifecycle for NPCI products (UPI/IMPS/RuPay/NACH/AePS/BBPS) from submission to sign-off.
- Liaise directly with NPCI teams for certification queries, documentation requests, and clarifications.
- Prepare and maintain certification documentation — test case evidence, compliance checklists, sign-off forms.
- Track certification timelines and escalate delays or blockers to internal stakeholders.
2. Integration & Implementation Support
- Act as the functional bridge between the bank/fintech's tech team and NPCI's technical/business requirements — translating NPCI specs into implementation requirements for internal teams.
- Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles — scheduling, tracking defects, ensuring sign-off from both business and NPCI side.
- Validate that implemented features match NPCI's product specifications and compliance mandates before go-live.
- Support production go-live activities and post-go-live monitoring/issue triage (functional, not code-level debugging).
3. Compliance & Data Protection
- Ensure payment product workflows align with DPDP Act requirements — consent capture, data minimization, data localization, breach notification protocols.
- Work with legal/compliance teams to review data handling practices tied to NPCI product transactions.
- Flag compliance gaps in existing or new product flows before they become audit/regulatory issues.
4. Stakeholder & Documentation Management
- Maintain a status tracker across all active NPCI certifications/integrations (what stage each is in, next steps, owners).
- Prepare status update decks/reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
- Participate in daily/weekly stand-ups with bank, fintech, and NPCI-side teams.
- Document processes, SOPs, and lessons learned for future certification cycles (since NPCI requirements evolve).
5. Issue Resolution & Escalation
- First point of contact when a certification fails or gets rejected — determine root cause (documentation gap, compliance miss, technical mismatch) and drive resolution with the right team.
- Manage relationship continuity with NPCI so recurring issues don't repeatedly stall progress.
