Position: Lead Design/Design Engineer LT Panels OR Estimation/Costing

Location: Mumbai

Reporting To: Technical Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership

- Lead the complete LT panel design lifecycle from tender stage to final execution.
- Review and approve GA drawings, SLDs, schematics, interlocking logic, and wiring diagrams.
- Provide technical direction to junior design engineers.
- Standardize design templates and engineering processes.

2. Advanced Electrical Design

- Design and review:
- PCC & MCC Panels
- AMF Panels
- APFC Panels
- Synchronization & DG Paralleling Panels
- VFD & PLC-Based Control Panels
- Perform:
- Busbar sizing & temperature rise calculations
- Short-circuit calculations
- Cable sizing calculations
- Protection coordination studies
- Ensure compliance with IEC 61439 and relevant IS standards.

3. Tender & Technical Review

- Analyze tender specifications and BOQs.
- Prepare technical deviations and clarifications.
- Support estimation team with technical inputs.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions.

4. Quality & Compliance

- Ensure panels meet type-test certifications where required.
- Oversee FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) documentation.




- Implement error-proofing in design to reduce production rework.
- Ensure adherence to ISO processes and documentation control.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with:
- Production for fabrication feasibility
- Procurement for component selection
- Projects team for site requirements
- Resolve technical issues during manufacturing and commissioning.

6. Continuous Improvement

- Introduce value engineering initiatives.
- Optimize design for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Improve design cycle time.
- Mentor and develop second-line design engineers.

Qualifications

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- 8–10 years of experience in LT panel design.
- Minimum 2–3 years of team handling experience preferred.

Technical Expertise Required

- Solid knowledge of:
- IEC 61439 compliance
- Form of separation (Form 2, 3, 4)
- IP ratings and thermal management
- DG synchronization logic
- PLC & HMI integration

Proficiency in:

- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- EPLAN / ETAP (preferred)
- Familiarity with switchgear brands:
- Schneider Electric
- Siemens
- ABB
- L&T;
