Lead/Sr. Python Developer

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

SimCorp provides high-quality risk analysis through our Axioma suite of products, which ingests custodian portfolios and positions from multiple data sources. This role will help integrate additional third-party partners into our data systems and expand our products reach to current customers. Alongside solid technical and coding skills, the right candidate will collaborate effectively with business partners across the organization to understand the rules required to integrate data and translate them into working code. You will help shape what we deliver to current and future clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

- Develop, maintain, and enhance ETL processes that load custodian data arriving in a variety of formats into our clients portfolio management and risk platform, using technologies including Python, Kafka, and Docker.

- Interact with subject matter experts and develop understanding of various financial instruments

- Collaborate with QA on design and implementation of manual and automated test processes

- Seek opportunities to improve quality and efficiency from ideation to deployment

- Follow Agile development processes, coding standards, and methodologies

- Take on a variety of tasks and work comfortably in unfamiliar applications

- Propose creative ideas to solve problems





WHAT WE VALUE

- Effective communication skills

- 5+ years of practical experience developing in Python

- Experience working with the pandas library

- Experience working with the Requests library (or similar) to consume REST APIs

- Good knowledge of and proficiency working in a Linux environment

- Experience working with Kafka or other distributed messaging systems

- Experience working with Docker containers

- Significant experience in the design and implementation of complex cloud-based systems

- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or similar

Additional Preferred skills

- Experience working in Fund Management or Capital Markets Domain

- Experience with Azure File Storage or similar cloud-based file systems

- Good knowledge and proficiency in SQL

- Experience with .NET Ecosystem

- Experience with Powershell and/or Bash scripting

- Experience with TeamCity or similar CI/CD tools

- Exposure to SCRUM or other Agile development practices
