Employee Relations Assistant Manager
About the Role
Radical Minds is looking for an experienced Employee Relations Assistant Manager to own the employee relations charter for a large domestic BPO workforce. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on exposure to managing ER for high-volume, high-attrition BPO environments and should be capable of independently handling employee relations for up to 2,000 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Employee Relations for the assigned business unit(s)/process(es), covering a workforce of up to 2,000 employees.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances, conflicts, and escalations; ensure timely and fair resolution.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, retention, and reduce attrition on the floor.
- Partner with Operations and Team Leaders to identify and address performance, discipline, and behavioral issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of attrition and disengagement trends; recommend corrective action plans.
- Handle disciplinary processes including show-cause notices, domestic enquiries, and PIPs in line with company policy and labor law.
- Ensure adherence to POSH guidelines; manage and resolve POSH complaints as an active IC member/coordinator.
- Conduct regular floor walks, one-on-ones, skip-level meetings, and connect sessions to gauge employee sentiment.
- Partner with Recruitment and Operations to support smooth onboarding, induction, and early-life engagement of current hires.
- Track and report ER metrics attrition, absenteeism, grievance TAT, engagement scores — to leadership on a periodic basis.
- Ensure statutory and policy compliance across ER practices (PF, ESI, labor law adherence, exit formalities).
- Drive HR connect programs, engagement calendars, rewards & recognition, and welfare initiatives specific to BPO operations.
- Support exit management — conduct exit interviews, analyze exit data, and share insights to improve retention.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, preferably within a Domestic BPO/ITES environment.
- Proven experience independently managing ER for large workforces (up to ~2,000 employees).
- Strong understanding of BPO floor dynamics, shift-based operations, and high-attrition environment management.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws, POSH Act, disciplinary procedures, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Recruitment, and Compliance teams.
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — in English and Hindi.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven, high-volume BPO setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent.
- Prior experience as an IC member for POSH.
- Exposure to HRMS/ER case management tools.
