About ESGenius

ESGenius is a CSR and Sustainability Consulting firm supporting corporates, foundations, and financial institutions on ESG, climate, and CSR advisory. Through its ESG advisory vertical, the firm delivers services spanning BRSR and BRSR Core compliance and assurance, climate risk and de-carbonization advisory and assessments, ESG strategy and materiality assessment, ESG due diligence, sustainable finance advisory, ESG training, circular economy advisory, supply chain sustainability, and governance and CSR risk advisory.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated young ESG professional to support the delivery of client engagements across our full range of ESG and sustainability advisory services. The Associate will work closely with senior consultants on research, development of SOPs, policies, client coordination, and report/deliverable preparation across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

ESG & Sustainability Reporting Compliance (Multi-Framework)

- Support clients in preparing structured, audit-ready disclosures across multiple reporting formats, including BRSR and BRSR Core, GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD, CDP, IFRS S1/S2, and Integrated Reporting.
- Assist in applicability assessment, scope definition, and phased readiness reviews for each applicable reporting framework.
- Support cross-mapping and alignment of disclosures across frameworks to avoid duplication and ensure consistency for clients reporting under more than one standard.
- Track regulatory and framework updates (SEBI, GRI, ISSB/IFRS, CDP, EU CSRD/ESRS where relevant) and flag implications for client reporting.

SOP Development & Process Documentation

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring ESG processes, including data collection, GHG inventorisation, disclosure preparation, and assurance readiness.
- Document client-specific data-collection templates, calculation methodologies, and internal control checklists to standardize delivery quality.
- Periodically review and update SOPs to reflect changes in frameworks, regulations,

and internal learnings from project delivery.

Training Module Design & Delivery Support

- Design and build training modules and content (decks, handbooks, case studies, assessments) for board, senior management, and role-based ESG capacity-building programs.
- Support delivery and facilitation of training sessions and workshops for client teams.
- Maintain and refresh a library of training content as frameworks and client needs evolve.

Client Interaction & Relationship Support

- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients on data requests, clarifications, and deliverable follow-ups.
- Lead or support client calls and working sessions to gather inputs, walk through findings, and confirm next steps.
- Build strong working relationships with client sustainability/CSR teams to enable smooth, ongoing engagement delivery.

End-to-End Project Coordination

- Own project timelines and trackers across the engagement lifecycle, from kick-off and data collection through review, finalization, and sign-off.
- Coordinate across internal teams (analysts, senior consultants, partners) and external stakeholders (clients, auditors/assurance providers) to keep deliverables on schedule.
- Flag risks, delays, and scope issues proactively, and escalate to senior consultants/partners with recommended solutions.
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, and version-controlled deliverables for each engagement.

Climate Risk & De-carbonization Advisory

- Support measurement and reporting of GHG emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) using globally accepted standards.
- Assist in developing Net Zero transition roadmaps and targets aligned with Science Based Targets (SBTi).
- Support physical and transition climate risk assessments (TCFD-aligned) for client portfolios.

BRSR Core Assurance Support

- Assist in assurance readiness assessments, KPI methodology review, and evidence/audit-trail validation.
- Support documentation and source-data validation across ESG metrics for ISAE 3000 / SSAE 3000-aligned assurance.

ESG Strategy, Materiality & Due Diligence

- Support climate and ESG materiality assessments, including financial and impact materiality analysis.

- Assist in translating materiality outcomes into actionable targets and KPIs.
- Support ESG and climate due diligence for M&A;, restructuring, and distressed-asset transactions, including risk and value-creation assessments.

Other Advisory Areas

- Support sustainable finance advisory work, including green/sustainability-linked bond and loan assessments.
- Assist in designing and delivering ESG capacity-building and training programs for boards, senior management, and staff.
- Support circular economy, resource efficiency, and supply chain sustainability advisory assignments.
- Assist governance risk and CSR advisory work, including CSR impact assessments and governance risk reviews.

Other Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

- Conduct secondary research on ESG regulations, reporting formats, and sector benchmarks.
- Prepare client-ready presentations, reports, trackers, and dashboards.
- Support proposal and RFP preparation for new business development.
- Travel to client locations as required for data collection, workshops, and meetings.

Candidate Requirements

- Graduate/Postgraduate in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Management, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, climate, or CSR consulting, or in a corporate sustainability/CSR function.
- Working knowledge of one or more sustainability reporting formats BRSR/BRSR Core, GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP, or IFRS S1/S2 is preferred; exposure to more than one framework is an advantage.

- Robust proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; comfort working with data and building structured templates/trackers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report, SOP, and training-content preparation, and for direct client interaction.
- Good research and analytical ability, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines end-to-end.
- Comfortable engaging directly with client teams and, where relevant, facilitating training sessions.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements as needed.

What We Offer

- Exposure to a wide range of ESG, climate, and CSR advisory engagements across sectors.
- Direct mentorship from senior CSR/ESG professionals and access to structured training.
- Compensation of INR 50,000 - 70,000 per month, based on experience and fit
