Star Infomatic Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a dynamic, hands-on and results-oriented finance leader to strengthen financial governance, build scalable processes and lead the organization's preparation for a proposed SME IPO. This role will combine strategic judgement with disciplined execution - owning finance, accounts, compliance, controls, banking, reporting and process management while partnering closely with the Managing Director and Board.
CORE MANDATE
Create an IPO-ready finance function with reliable reporting, strong internal controls, complete statutory compliance, disciplined cash management and a capable, accountable team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Strategy, Planning & Business Performance
- Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with growth, profitability and capital requirements.
- Own annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-range plans, scenario analysis and management dashboards.
- Provide the Managing Director and Board with timely insights on margins, costs, pricing, investments, risks and business performance.
- Improve cash flow, working capital, inventory turns, receivables and return on capital employed.
- Evaluate funding, expansion, strategic partnership and investment proposals through disciplined financial analysis.
2. Accounting, Reporting, Controls & Audit
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure and reporting.
- Establish robust accounting policies, SOPs, maker-checker controls, approval matrices and audit trails.
- Maintain complete books, schedules, reconciliations, inventory valuation, fixed-asset records and cost accounting controls.
- Lead statutory, internal, tax and cost audits; ensure timely closure of observations and zero repeat findings.
- Ensure readiness for applicable accounting standards, including Ind AS where required for the proposed transaction.
3. Statutory, MCA & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure complete and timely compliance under the Companies Act and MCA/ROC requirements in coordination with the Company Secretary and advisors.
- Oversee GST, TDS,
Income Tax, Customs, FEMA and other applicable financial and regulatory compliances.
- Maintain a central compliance calendar with clear ownership, evidence and escalation protocols.
- Manage regulatory notices, assessments and representations in coordination with professional advisors.
- Support SEBI, stock-exchange and continuing listing compliances applicable to the proposed SME IPO.
4. Treasury, Banking & Capital Management
- Lead treasury, liquidity planning and relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Manage and optimize CC, OD, term loans, bank guarantees, letters of credit and trade-finance facilities.
- Plan capital requirements, fundraising and debt restructuring while controlling financing cost and covenant risk.
- Monitor foreign-exchange exposure and working-capital risks arising from import/export operations.
5. Process Management, Systems & Automation
- Map and improve order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, expense, payroll and record-to-report processes.
- Drive ERP discipline, automation, dashboarding and a single source of reliable financial information.
- Define service levels, turnaround times, exception reports and measurable process controls.
- Partner with operations, procurement, sales and supply chain teams to improve business discipline and scalability.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build, mentor and hold accountable a high-performing finance, accounts, taxation and compliance team.
- Create transparent roles, review mechanisms, succession plans and capability-development priorities.
- Communicate confidently in English with the Board, investors, bankers, auditors,
advisors and internal teams.
- Promote a culture of ownership, integrity, transparency, responsiveness and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Finance leadership: 15-20+ years of progressive experience, including meaningful responsibility as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance or Head of Finance.
- IPO capability: Practical exposure to IPO/SME IPO readiness, due diligence, fundraising, investor interaction or listed-company governance is strongly preferred.
- Compliance depth: Strong working knowledge of MCA/ROC, Companies Act, GST, TDS, Income Tax, audit and corporate governance requirements.
- Process orientation: Demonstrated success in strengthening controls, implementing SOPs, improving MIS and driving ERP-led process discipline.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Leadership: Decisive, ethical and hands-on; able to set high standards, develop teams and deliver under tight timelines.
Preferred Experience
- Electronics manufacturing, telecom, industrial, technology, distribution or import/export-led businesses.
- Manufacturing costing, inventory controls, supply-chain finance and project/government sales environments.
- Fundraising, lender negotiations, investor relations, business expansion or transaction support.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, financial modelling and management dashboards.
Key Performance Indicators
- Monthly closing and reporting timelines; forecast accuracy and quality of Board MIS.
- Statutory compliance timeliness; audit qualifications, observations and repeat findings.
- Cash conversion cycle, receivables, inventory, working-capital utilization and financing cost.
- Budget adherence, margin improvement, cost savings and process turnaround times.
- Completion and quality of SME IPO readiness, diligence and governance milestones.
- Finance-team capability, accountability, retention and succession readiness.
