Lead Enterprise Architect Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Enterprise Architect to spearhead the development, execution, and evolution of enterprise-wide architecture across the BGIUK and other market units. This role demands an individual who can provide strategic direction to ensure alignment between business objectives and technological capabilities, while also driving innovation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be expected to proactively identify areas for improvement, implement scalable solutions, and champion the adoption of emerging technologies. Additionally, the Lead Enterprise Architect will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing critical decisions and ensuring the organisation remains ahead in a rapidly changing technological landscape. As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in aligning technology strategies with business objectives or core technical capabilities. Whether working closely with business unit leaders or technical product teams, you will create strategic roadmaps to drive digital modernisation and scalable, resilient platforms. In this federated model, balancing autonomy with shared goals is crucial, as is factoring incremental business growth into transformation initiatives. Lead Enterprise Architect As a Lead Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering robust, scalable, and innovative enterprise solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership skills to ensure the alignment of architecture with business goals and technological advancements. You will be responsible for defining and implementing architectural strategies, fostering collaboration across departments, and driving the adoption of innovative solutions. As a Lead Enterprise Architect within BGIUK, you will take full ownership of delivering Enterprise Architecture artefacts for multiple business domains, ensuring alignment with the overall EA capability for the business unit and supporting the Principal Architect accountable for it. Operating with minimal support, you will adhere to the priorities set by the Principal Architect while navigating stakeholder conflicts and opposing drivers to achieve compromise or escalate when necessary. Your primary interactions will involve guiding Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects, as well as collaborating with Product Squads on impacts, prioritisation, and high-level requirements clarification. Key Responsibilities Specifically, a Lead Enterprise Architect will: Create and maintain the overall enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with the organisations strategic objectives. Define the North Star Vision and target state architecture for one or more domains within a business unit and develop strategies to deliver via funded programs. Define architectural frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure consistency and scalability across systems. Lead cross-functional teams to assess, design, and implement technology solutions that address current and future business needs.
Oversee solution architecture and design within a specific business unit while ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide standards. Evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential impact and applicability within the enterprise ecosystem. Act as the design authority for solutions within the portfolio and specific business unit. Develop roadmaps and business cases to secure funding for short-term and long-term architecture interventions. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into an actionable technology strategy. Engage stakeholders to address key focus areas and communicate risks with mitigation strategies. Optimize existing IT systems and processes, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and efficient. Act as a mentor and guide for architecture teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Provide regular updates to leadership on architectural progress, challenges, and opportunities. Foresee possible risks in architectural plans and implement solutions to mitigate them effectively. Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations for platform or service improvements.

Technical Skills Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application in enterprise systems. Proficiency in data management, integration technologies, and software development methodologies. Expertise in system security and optimization practices to enhance scalability and reliability. Experience in emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain, and their practical applications in architecture. Expertise on Microservices Architecture and Distributed Technologies and adoption at enterprise scale. Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with multitasking capabilities and strong leadership and communication abilities. Able to contribute at all levels from design through implementation and at system-wide architecture through to code-level design concerns.
Qualifications, Training, and Experience Education: A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. 18 - 20 years of experience with at least 4 years working as a lead solutions or enterprise architect Certifications: Industry-recognized qualifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly valued. Platform Architecture: Proven experience as a Platform Solutions Architect, including a strong foundation in SOA applications, microservices architecture, and cloud-based services. Migration Expertise: Hands-on experience with migrating enterprise solutions from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments. Technological Proficiency: Knowledge of the Microsoft Technology Stack (.NET 4.8, .NET Core, C#) and CRM platforms such as Dynamics and Salesforce. Diverse Knowledge: Horizontal breadth having exposure to different tech stacks like Mainframe, Microsoft, Java, Scala, etc. Digital Transformation Modernization: Experience on modernising enterprise scale tech stacks and legacy platforms. Microsoft Power Platform: Practical knowledge and application of Microsoft Power Platform tools. Open Source Integration: Expertise in leveraging open-source technologies for building and managing cloud computing frameworks. Location India - Gurgaon
