As solar cell capacity in India scales rapidly, our additive trial and qualification pipeline is expanding and we are looking for a senior technical leader to drive it.

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Process Engineer with deep expertise in the wet chemistry of solar cell manufacturing to lead our additive trial and qualification programme in India. You will own the design execution, and optimization of additive trials at customer manufacturing lines from trial planning and on-line process tuning through data analysis and qualification while mentoring the field engineering team and driving continuous improvement in how we deliver results. This is a customer-facing, strategic role requiring strong leadership, analytical rigour, and the ability to collaborate across customer R&D;, production, and quality teams to demonstrate performance gains and drive additive adoption from trial to production.

Key Responsibilities

- Trial Leadership: Lead end-to-end additive trials at customer fabs trial design, baseline benchmarking, on-line execution, and post-trial performance analysis and qualification reporting.
- Process Development & Optimization: Develop and optimize wet chemistry processes texturing, etching, cleaning,



and surface treatment to enhance efficiency, yield, and quality on PERC, TOPCon, and next-generation cell architectures.
- Data & Performance Metrics: Define and monitor KPIs across trials (cell efficiency, reflectance, bath life, yield, throughput); analyse electrical and process data and present clear, quantified results to customer technical teams.
- Customer Interface: Act as the senior technical interface with customer process, quality, and R&D; teams; build credibility with senior stakeholders at leading Indian cell manufacturers.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Oversee rapid diagnosis and resolution of complex process issues and deviations during trials, minimizing line downtime and protecting customer production targets.
- Team Management: Guide and mentor field engineers and technical team members; foster a culture of rigour, documentation discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with SunFonergy's global R&D; team to feed back field data and co-develop new additive formulations and application recipes; align trial priorities with commercial objectives.
- Documentation & Quality: Build and maintain trial protocols, SOPs, work instructions,



and qualification reports; ensure processes consistently meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to customer fab safety, health, chemical handling, and environmental protocols.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in wet chemistry processes for solar cell manufacturing (texturing/etching/cleaning benches) or closely related semiconductor wet processing, including experience leading trials, teams, or projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in process development, optimization, and scale-up within solar or semiconductor manufacturing; proven track record running DOEs and qualifications on production lines.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach statistical process control, structured problem-solving, and clear reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; confidence engaging senior customer stakeholders and managing cross-functional interactions independently at customer sites.
- Proven record of delivering results in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to travel extensively to cell manufacturing sites across India.
