Role Title: Alteryx ELT Automation Engineer

Location: Chennai

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Alteryx ELT Automation Engineer to design, build, automate, and support data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows from multiple data sources for a banking environment.

The role will focus on developing scalable and controlled Alteryx workflows to ingest, transform, validate, and publish data for reporting, analytics, regulatory, finance, risk, and operational use cases. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Alteryx Designer, database integration, workflow automation, data quality checks, reconciliation, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Alteryx Workflow Development

- Design, develop, test, and deploy Alteryx workflows for ELT automation.
- Automate data extraction from multiple source systems including databases, flat files, Excel, APIs, SFTP, shared folders, and cloud storage.
- Build reusable Alteryx components, macros, templates, and standard workflow patterns.
- Optimize existing manual data preparation processes using Alteryx automation.
- Convert business logic, SQL scripts, and manual Excel processes into automated Alteryx workflows.

Data Integration and ELT Automation

- Integrate data from various banking systems such as core banking, finance, risk, customer, product, transaction, and regulatory platforms.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, enrichment, and loading into target databases, data marts, reporting layers, or analytics platforms.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data formats including CSV, Excel, TXT, XML, JSON, and database tables.
- Develop parameterized workflows to support multiple business units, reporting periods,



and source variations.
- Schedule and monitor automated jobs using Alteryx Server or enterprise scheduling tools.

Data Quality and Reconciliation

- Implement data quality rules, validation checks, exception handling, and reconciliation controls.
- Perform source-to-target reconciliation, record count checks, duplicate checks, null checks, format checks, and cross-field validations.
- Generate exception reports and control summaries for business and technology stakeholders.
- Investigate data mismatches and support root cause analysis.
- Ensure workflows meet audit, compliance, and operational control requirements.

Banking and Regulatory Reporting Support

- Support data preparation and automation for banking reports across finance, risk, operations, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Work with business users to understand reporting logic, source data requirements, and transformation rules.
- Support automation of recurring reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Maintain clear documentation for data lineage, transformation logic, workflow design, and control procedures.

Production Support and Governance

- Support production deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Alteryx workflows.
- Maintain version control and change management for Alteryx assets.




- Ensure compliance with banking technology standards, data security policies, and access controls.
- Prepare technical documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and support handover documents.
- Work with infrastructure, database, data governance, and business teams to resolve platform or data issues.

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

- Solid hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer.
- Experience with Alteryx Server / Alteryx Gallery for publishing, scheduling, and monitoring workflows.
- Strong SQL skills for querying, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Experience extracting data from multiple sources including databases, Excel, CSV, APIs, SFTP, and shared drives.
- Good understanding of ELT/ETL concepts, data pipelines, data mapping, and source-to-target transformation.
- Experience in workflow optimization, error handling, logging, and automation controls.
- Knowledge of data quality checks, reconciliation rules, and exception reporting.
- Familiarity with version control and deployment processes.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, Banking, Finance, or related discipline.

Experience Level

4 to 8 years of overall data engineering / ETL / ELT experience, with at least 2 to 4 years of hands-on Alteryx development experience
