Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven City Head to lead and scale our Fleet Business operations in Chennai. This role owns the city P&L; and is responsible for driving business growth, fleet utilization, driver supply, operational efficiency, and profitability.
The position will lead Driver Sourcing, Driver Performance Management, and Fleet Repair Management functions while ensuring solid execution and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Business & P&L; Management
- Own Chennai city P&L;, including Revenue, Margin, and EBITDA targets.
- Drive growth in active fleet, trips, and revenue.
- Identify new business opportunities such as leasing, rentals, EV fleets, and B2B partnerships.
- Forecast demand and fleet capacity requirements.
- Improve unit economics through better utilization, acquisition efficiency, and cost control.
Driver Operations
- Lead driver acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention programs.
- Manage the complete driver lifecycle and productivity funnel.
- Implement incentive and engagement initiatives to improve performance and reduce churn.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, training, and verification requirements.
Fleet Management
- Ensure high fleet uptime through preventive maintenance and efficient repair operations.
- Manage workshops, vendors, and service partners.
- Control maintenance costs and monitor vehicle performance.
- Oversee accident management, insurance claims, and fleet lifecycle planning.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead city operations teams and managers.
- Drive performance reviews, operational planning, and business reporting.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, regulatory authorities, and driver communities.
Experience Required
- 7-10 years of experience with at least 3 years in a City Head, Regional Operations, or P&L; ownership role.
- Experience managing large blue-collar or gig workforce operations.
- Background in logistics, mobility, transportation, e-commerce, staffing, or fleet management.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and scaling operations.
Skills Required
- Strong P&L; management and business acumen.
- Expertise in operational metrics, dashboards, and process management.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; SQL or BI tools are a plus.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of Chennai market dynamics and field operations.
Education
- Bachelors degree required.
- MBA preferred.
Language Requirements
- Tamil and English fluency is mandatory.
- Hindi proficiency is an added advantage.
