Job Description: Advanced Excel & Macro Specialist

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Advanced Excel Specialist with strong Macro (VBA) expertise to design, automate, and optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will manage large datasets, build dynamic reports, and create automated solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and optimize Excel-based tools, dashboards, and reports
- Create and enhance Macros using VBA to automate repetitive tasks
- Analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights
- Design data models, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
- Build interactive dashboards using Power Query and Power Pivot
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and integrity
- Integrate Excel with external data sources (SQL, CSV, APIs, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve Excel/VBA issues
- Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Expertise in modular VBA development (reusable functions, class modules, structured error handling)




- Strong understanding of the Excel Object Model (Workbooks, Worksheets, Ranges, Events)
- Experience with event-driven programming (e.g. Workbook_Open, Worksheet_Change)
- Proficiency in VBA performance optimization (screen updating, calculation control, memory management)
- Ability to handle large datasets efficiently (arrays, dictionaries, minimizing loop usage)
- Hands-on experience with database connectivity (ADO/DAO, SQL integration)
- Experience in automating other Office applications (Outlook, etc.) using VBA
- Strong grasp of data transformation and normalization techniques
- Knowledge of data refresh automation and dependency management
- Strong skills in debugging, code maintainability, and version control practices

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in process automation or reporting roles
- Familiarity with Power BI (optional but preferred)
- Exposure to business operations or MIS reporting
