Key Responsibilities

- 45 years of experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle database development with robust knowledge of SQL, PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL, and ETL concepts.
- Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, materialized views, indexes, sequences, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Develop reusable and efficient PL/pgSQL database objects to support enterprise applications.
- Design and optimize database structures based on business and application requirements.
- Write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries, CTEs, window functions, and reporting queries.
- Perform database performance tuning using EXPLAIN ANALYZE, indexing strategies, query optimization, VACUUM, and ANALYZE.
- Develop and execute unit testing and database validation scripts to ensure quality and accuracy of database code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to SQL, PL/pgSQL, locking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement database security using roles, privileges, schema permissions, row-level security,



and data encryption best practices.
- Support data migration, ETL processes, bulk data loading, and data reconciliation activities.
- Create and maintain ER diagrams, data models, metadata, and database documentation.
- Integrate data from APIs, flat files, and external databases into PostgreSQL databases.
- Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance to maintain data consistency and integrity.
- Provide deployment support, database object releases, production migrations, and post-deployment verification.
- Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, QA teams, and DevOps engineers throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices and coding standards.
- Support reporting and analytics teams by providing optimized database objects and datasets.
