Purpose of the Role

To establish, govern, and continuously improve the organization's quality management system by ensuring product quality, process compliance, data integrity, quality record management, and effective quality MIS across all manufacturing operations. The role is accountable for transforming operational quality data into actionable business insights and driving a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System Governance

- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Establish quality policies, procedures, standards, work instructions, and control plans.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, statutory requirements, and certification requirements.
- Lead management reviews and quality performance assessments.

2. Quality Records Governance

- Define quality records to be maintained by Production, Prepress, Press, Post-Press, Maintenance, Stores, and other operational departments.
- Ensure records are accurate, complete, traceable, and maintained as per approved formats.
- Periodically audit quality records for compliance and effectiveness.
- Establish document control and record retention procedures.

3. Quality MIS Leadership

- Define quality-related KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and reporting structures.
- Ensure data collected from operational departments is:
- Accurate
- Complete
- Timely
- Consistent
- Actionable

- Review daily, weekly, and monthly quality MIS reports.
- Present quality performance reports to senior management.

4. Data Quality Governance

- Establish standards for quality data collection, validation, and reporting.
- Conduct periodic data verification and quality audits.
- Ensure integrity of quality-related information used for management decision-making.
- Investigate recurring data inaccuracies and implement corrective actions.

5. Process Quality Monitoring





- Monitor process capability and product quality across all manufacturing stages.
- Review rejection trends, customer complaints, process deviations, and quality incidents.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

6. Internal Audits & Compliance

- Develop annual audit plans.
- Lead internal quality audits and compliance assessments.
- Monitor closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
- Ensure readiness for customer audits and certification audits.

7. Customer Quality Management

- Review customer complaints and quality escalations.
- Lead investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Drive reduction in customer complaints and quality failures.

8. Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities for quality improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Promote Lean Manufacturing and Quality Circle initiatives.
- Drive defect prevention rather than defect detection.

9. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Develop quality awareness across departments.
- Conduct quality system and data management training.
- Build a culture of accountability for quality records and quality data.

10. Technology & Automation

- Promote digitization of quality records and quality monitoring systems.
- Support ERP, MES, MIS, and automated data capture initiatives.
- Reduce manual intervention and reporting errors through automation.

11. Data Security & Confidentiality

- Ensure confidentiality and controlled access to quality data and customer-sensitive information.
- Maintain compliance with organizational data governance requirements.

Preferred qualifications in the candidate





Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Printing Technology (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A Master's degree in Quality Management or Operations Management will be an advantage but is not mandatory.

Experience

- Minimum 810 years of manufacturing experience.
- At least 6 years in a quality leadership role within a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience dealing with high-volume production where traceability and defect prevention are critical.

The candidate must demonstrate solid working knowledge of:

- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone)
- CAPA implementation
- FMEA
- Process capability studies
- Internal and supplier audits
- Quality documentation and SOP development
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma principles
- Calibration systems
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Acceptance sampling methods
- Document control and change management

Leadership Competencies

The individual should have proven ability to:

- Build a culture of quality rather than inspection.

- Train production employees in quality systems.

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in:

- Microsoft Excel (advanced)
- ERP/MIS systems
- Statistical analysis software (preferred)
- Digital quality dashboards
- Data analysis and reporting

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

One or more of the following would be highly desirable:

- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Lean Manufacturing certification
- Internal Auditor certification
