Technical Lead - Java

Brief description

The Technical Lead Java will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise Java applications at Sorim. This role will guide a team of Java engineers and freshers, establish strong engineering practices, and ensure high-quality software delivery through architectural governance, code reviews, and DevOps integration.

The Technical Lead will work closely with Engineering leadership, product teams, and delivery teams to design robust solutions using modern Java frameworks and cloud-ready architectures.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Onsite requirements

Work from office five days per week.

Experience level

8–10+ years of experience in software development, including minimum 5+ years of experience in Java application development and technical leadership roles.

Key responsibilities

- Lead a team of Java engineers and freshers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and hands-on development support.
- Design and implement scalable and high-performance Java applications using modern frameworks.
- Define technical architecture, solution design, and best practices for Java-based systems.
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical reviews, and solution design discussions.
- Build and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Work with Maven and Gradle build systems for dependency management and build automation.
- Establish coding standards, peer review processes, and engineering best practices.




- Conduct code reviews and technical audits to ensure maintainability, performance, and security.
- Ensure code quality through tools such as SonarQube and dependency compliance through FOSSA.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and freshers to build strong Java competency within the team.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and skill development initiatives within the engineering team.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and accelerator development within Sorim.

Required skills

- Strong experience in Java (8/11/17/21) and Spring Boot framework.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Hands-on experience with Maven and Gradle build tools.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube and FOSSA.
- Experience in system integration and enterprise application development.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, or Kubernetes is a plus.

- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and scalable system design
