Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Head to lead the Human Resources function at The Indus Valley. The HR Head will play a strategic role in shaping and executing people strategies that support business growth, strengthen organizational culture, ensure compliance, and build scalable HR systems across corporate and manufacturing/warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, organizational development, employee relations, contract staff management, compensation structuring, and HR team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

- Develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with business goals and manpower requirements.
Lead manpower planning, budgeting, and workforce utilization across departments.
Drive hiring for leadership, managerial, technical, and niche roles through effective sourcing channels.
Monitor recruitment metrics, including recruitment funnel efficiency, time to hire, time to fill, yield ratios, and offer acceptance rates.
Build strong hiring processes to support business expansion and organizational growth.

Performance Management

- Align organizational objectives with individual employee goals through structured OKRs and performance frameworks.
Lead performance assessment cycles, appraisals, feedback discussions, and Performance Improvement Plans.
Implement fair, transparent, and measurable rating systems linked to salary revisions and career growth.
Ensure performance management practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with business expectations.

Compliance and Policy Development





- Collaborate with compliance partners such as Genicon and Aprajitha to manage statutory compliance requirements for the Head Office, warehouse, and manufacturing-related operations.
Develop, communicate, and update HR policies in line with legal, statutory, and organizational requirements.
Establish and maintain HR SOPs to streamline processes and ensure compliance efficiency.
Ensure adherence to Indian employment laws, labour laws, statutory regulations, and internal governance standards.

Organization Development

- Design and optimize organizational structures to improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
Define clear career paths, job roles, competency frameworks, and succession planning structures.
Implement retention strategies and employee engagement initiatives to build a positive organizational culture.
Conduct industry benchmarking and talent market analysis to strengthen HR practices.
Support change management initiatives during business growth, restructuring, or process transformation.

Team Management

- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR & Admin team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Mentor, train, and develop HR team members to enhance functional capability and ownership.
Drive daily, weekly, and monthly follow-ups to monitor HR deliverables and resolve issues proactively.
Build a high-performing HR team capable of supporting a fast-paced and evolving business environment.

Conflict Management and Employee Relations

- Mediate workplace disputes and facilitate fair conflict resolution to maintain a healthy work environment.
Develop preventive strategies to address employee grievances, workplace concerns, and interpersonal conflicts.
Promote a culture of transparency, trust, discipline, and open communication across the organization.

Contract Staff Management

- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, attendance, performance, and compliance management of contract staff.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to contractual agreements and statutory requirements.




Monitor workforce productivity, attendance accuracy, and manpower cost efficiency.
Ensure smooth coordination between HR, Operations, Warehouse, Admin, and external manpower agencies.

Compensation and Benefits

- Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits structures aligned with industry standards and business goals.
Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement.
Review salary structures, increments, benefits, and retention plans based on performance and market benchmarks.
Ensure payroll compliance with statutory requirements and internal approval processes.

Qualifications and Experience

- Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
18+ years of progressive HR experience, with proven experience as an HR Head or in a similar senior HR leadership role.
Experience in managing a large workforce of 200+ full-time employees (FTEs) across business operations.
Mandatory industry experience in both Manufacturing and Corporate environments.
Strong understanding of Indian employment laws, labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
Proven experience in talent acquisition, HR operations, compliance, PMS, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development.
Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly evolving startup environment.

Preferred Skills

- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on experience in scaling HR systems, processes, and teams.
Ability to work closely with leadership teams and drive people-related business decisions.
Robust analytical mindset with experience in HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
High ownership, maturity, and problem-solving ability.
