The Opportunity

As a Manager Java Full Stack Operations Service Delivery Lead within EY GDS TechOps, you will lead the delivery of application support engagements, drive transformation initiatives, and optimize Java-based digital engineering operations across client environments.

You will be responsible for managing Java application support, performance optimization, and platform modernization, while driving automation and operational excellence in line with EY quality and delivery standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end delivery of Java-based application managed services (AMS) engagements across multiple clients.
- Own support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Java full stack applications (Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Angular/React UI).
- Guide and support teams in resolving complex production issues, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring application stability and performance.
- Drive application performance tuning, including JVM tuning, memory and thread optimization, API performance, and database optimization as needed.
- Support the maintenance of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Kubernetes, Docker) for Java applications.
- Drive automation, AIOps, and self-healing capabilities to reduce incidents and operational toil.
- Manage ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, release management) with strong governance.
- Track and improve SLAs/KPIs, including availability, MTTR, and defect leakage.
- Collaborate with architecture, cloud, DevOps, and business teams to align solutions with client goals.
- Mentor engineers on Java best practices,



design patterns, and scalable architecture.
- Support presales, solutioning, and client discussions for Java-based transformation programs.
- Ensure compliance with EY risk, security, and data governance standards.
- Flexible to work in shifts or extended hours as required.

Skills and attributes for success

- Robust expertise in Java full stack ecosystem:
- Java 8+ / Spring Boot / Spring Cloud
- Microservices, REST APIs
- Frontend frameworks (Angular / React)

- Deep understanding of application architecture:

- Distributed systems, event-driven architecture
- API gateway, caching, messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ)

- Strong experience in production support & performance engineering for Java applications.
- Proficiency in DevOps & cloud-native engineering:

- CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)

- Strong grounding in ITIL/ITSM processes and service delivery governance.
- Ability to drive automation and AI-led operations (AIOps) for ticket reduction.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven leadership in managing distributed teams and multi-client delivery.

To qualify for the role, you must have

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in digital engineering / AMS / IT operations, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java full stack technologies and enterprise application support.
- Experience delivering large-scale Java-based managed services programs.
