Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the architecture of a high-load distributed backend system, with strong emphasis on performance engineering, caching strategies, and productive communication patterns (gRPC, messaging). The system is heavily Redis-driven with minimal reliance on database operations.

Responsibilities

- Lead architecture design for high-load distributed systems
- Define and drive cache-first architecture (Redis as core layer)
- Design efficient service communication using gRPC, REST, and messaging systems
- Define best practices for RabbitMQ/Kafka usage (throughput, reliability, ordering)
- Drive deep performance optimization across CPU, memory, network,and I/O
- Optimize inter-service communication and data flow
- Design efficient data access patterns with NHibernate
- Own performance of critical paths under high concurrency
- Establish engineering standards for high-performance C# code
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering (coding agents, test generation)
- Define governance for AI-generated code quality and safety
- Mentor engineers in performance engineering and distributed systems
- Lead incident analysis focusing on performance bottlenecks and scaling limits

Requirements

- 8+ years of backend engineering experience
- Deep expertise in C# / .NET
- Proven experience building high-load distributed systems
- Strong experience with Redis:
- Cache design (TTL, invalidation, consistency trade-offs)
- Memory and latency optimization
- Strong experience with gRPC, REST APIs, and messaging systems




- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ and/or Kafka at scale
- Deep expertise in performance engineering:
- Profiling (CPU, memory,GC)
- Latency and throughput optimization
- Eliminating bottlenecks
- Advanced experience with NHibernate:
- Efficient query design
- ORM performance pitfalls
- Migrations
- Strong understanding of distributed system behavior:
- Concurrency, consistency, failure scenarios
- Deep understanding of application security, including:
- TLS/SSL and secure communication
- Secure coding practices
- OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
- Threat modeling and mitigation
- Strong experience with AI development tools and agents:
- Generating optimized production code and tests
- Reviewing and governing AI output
- Driving adoption at scale
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
