Role Summary

We are seeking a Payments Engineering Lead to provide technical and engineering leadership for Payments platforms within Transaction Banking, with regional accountability across Asia Pacific markets. This leadership role is responsible for engineering strategy, platform stability, and delivery execution for largescale payment modernization initiatives.

The role will lead the design, build, integration, and evolution of payment platforms, working closely with functional architecture, business, and control functions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and productionready. The ideal candidate brings deep experience delivering complex payments systems at scale and leading highperforming engineering teams in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

- Own and drive the Payments Engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader payments transformation roadmap across Asia Pacific.
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership for payment platforms, covering design, build, integration, testing, deployment, and run.
- Translate functional architecture and business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure engineering solutions.
- Lead engineering delivery across payment domains including:

->Payment processing and orchestration

->Clearing and settlement integrations

->Real-time and instant payment rails

->Channel and client connectivity

- Make independent, senior-level decisions on engineering approaches, technology trade-offs, and delivery sequencing.
- Ensure platforms meet non-functional requirements, including performance, resilience, scalability,



security, and availability.
- Partner closely with Functional Architecture, Business, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end delivery.
- Provide leadership across multiple delivery teams, setting engineering standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
- Oversee engineering engagement with vendors and delivery partners, ensuring alignment to architectural intent and engineering standards, with strong focus on Oracle Banking Payments.
- Act as senior escalation point for production issues, engineering risks, and complex delivery challenges.
- Represent payments engineering in governance forums, transformation leadership discussions, and senior steering committees.

Key Qualifications

- Minimum 15 years of experience leading engineering delivery for Transaction Banking Payments, including large-scale payment platform implementations and modernization programs.
- Strong technical leadership across the end-to-end payments lifecycle, including payment initiation, orchestration, clearing, settlement, exception handling, and integrations with external clearing systems and banks.
- Proven experience leading complex integration architectures for payments, including high-throughput, low-latency,



and highly resilient transaction processing environments.
- Strong technical and engineering expertise across the endtoend payments lifecycle, including highvolume payment processing, realtime payments, clearing and settlement integrations, and channel connectivity.
- Deep understanding of integration patterns commonly used in payments, including REST/SOAP services, messaging, asynchronous processing, and transaction management.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams building, providing architectural guidance, code quality standards, and delivery governance.
- Strong understanding of non-functional requirements for payments platforms, including scalability, performance, resiliency, availability and security
- Demonstrated experience operating at a Director or equivalent senior leadership level, with accountability for engineering delivery outcomes across regions or major transformation programs
- Ability to make pragmatic engineering and technology decisions, balancing speed to market, platform stability, risk, and long-term maintainability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with architecture, business, operations, risk, compliance, and technology leadership.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-change environments, providing transparent technical direction and confidence to delivery teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with vendors and system integrators.
- Preferred: Experience leading engineering delivery and integration for payment platforms based on Oracle Banking Payments (OBPay)
