Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization. The COO ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, quality patient care, financial efficiency, and sustainable business growth. The role involves coordinating clinical and non-clinical departments to achieve organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of patient experience and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of all branches and departments.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, infrastructure, and resources.
- Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
Business Growth
- Develop and execute expansion strategies for new centres and services.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve profitability.
- Build strategic partnerships with hospitals, physicians, corporate clients, insurance providers, and healthcare organizations.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Promote quality assurance and continuous process improvement.
- Oversee patient safety, infection control, biomedical waste management, and risk management programs.
- Lead internal audits and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Financial Management
- Prepare and monitor operational budgets.
- Control operating costs while maintaining service quality.
- Analyze financial reports and recommend cost optimization strategies.
- Ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
Human Resource Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental heads and operational teams.
- Drive employee engagement, performance management, and leadership development.
- Ensure adequate staffing and workforce planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Patient Experience
- Ensure exceptional patient service across all touchpoints.
- Monitor patient feedback and implement improvements.
- Resolve escalated operational issues and service complaints promptly.
Vendor & Facility Management
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
- Oversee procurement, maintenance, housekeeping, security, and facility operations.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of equipment and consumables.
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare monthly operational and management reports.
- Present performance updates to senior leadership and the Board.
- Use operational data to support strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), Healthcare Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Additional certifications in healthcare quality, operations, or project management are an advantage.
Experience
- 1015 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in diagnostic centres, hospitals, or multi-location healthcare organizations is highly preferred.

Working Hours
- Full time.
- May require travel between branches and availability during operational emergencies.
