JD : G7 Technical Architect ETL Migration (Alteryx to Python)

Key Responsibilities

- Define and drive technical architecture and implementation design for migrating Alteryx workflows to Python pipelines
- Design and standardize Python frameworks, Airflow DAG structures, and reusable components
- Establish best practices for coding, modularity, performance, error handling, and monitoring
- Provide hands-on guidance to teams on Python development, Airflow orchestration, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, copilots)
- Translate high-level solution designs into detailed technical specifications and implementation patterns
- Review and ensure quality through code reviews, design validations, and technical governance
- Collaborate with Stakeholder, Tech Leads, and Developers to ensure alignment and execution quality
- Support full lifecycle: technical design development testing deployment optimization
- Optimize solutions for performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Define and enforce CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and DevOps standards

Experience

- 12+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or technical architecture
- Strong experience in hands-on technical design within migration or modernization programs

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

- Expert-level proficiency in Python (production-grade, scalable systems)
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Apache Airflow (DAG design, orchestration patterns)
- Solid understanding of ETL workflows (analysis and translation into Python)
- Expertise in coding standards, performance optimization, logging, and monitoring
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.)

Project & Leadership Skills

- Robust ability to lead technical implementation across teams




- Experience enforcing engineering standards and governance
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional and distributed teams

Nice to Have

- Experience in Alteryx migration or similar transformation programs
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices

Exp 6-9 years

Design and implement Python-based solutions to replace existing Alteryx workflows

Convert, refactor, and optimize Alteryx workflows into scalable Python pipelines

Develop and manage workflows using Apache Airflow (DAG design, scheduling, dependencies, retries)

Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, coding agents) to improve productivity, code quality, and consistency

Ensure solutions align with best engineering practices (modularity, reusability, performance, documentation)

Actively participate in the full project lifecycle:

Requirements analysis

Solution design

Development

Testing & validation

Deployment and post go live support

Collaborate with SMEs and business users to validate migrated solutions

Support governance, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

Expert-level knowledge of Python (data processing, automation, production-ready code)

Apache Airflow (designing and maintaining complex workflows)

Alteryx medium level (ability to understand, analyze, and translate existing workflows)

Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools, such as:
