Job Role: Subject Matter Expert - Deck

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate maritime professional to take on the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Deck Operations. The ideal candidate will be a Second Officer or Chief Officer with a strong interest in knowledge transfer and development. This role holder will be involved in assisting creating engaging and effective learning modules focused on ship deck operations.

1. Key Responsibilities

- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of ship deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, anchoring, navigation, emergency procedures, and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

2. Curriculum Development :

- Collaborate with the content developer to define learning objectives and outcomes for deck operations modules.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, scripts, and assessments aligned with training needs.
- Assist in creating engaging and interactive content, including text, visuals, simulations, and multimedia elements.

3. Content Creation:





- Assist in developing high-quality learning materials such as e-learning courses, videos, and interactive modules.
- Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with industry standards.

4. Quality Assurance:

- Review and edit learning materials for clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.
- Conduct pilot testing of modules to gather feedback and make necessary improvements.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years of seafaring experience as a 2nd Officer or 3rd Officer.
- Robust understanding of ship deck operations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and understandable language.
- Passion for teaching and developing others.
