Job Title: Purchase Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement activities for construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, cost optimization, and timely procurement of construction materials, MEP items, equipment, and subcontract services. Experience in the Construction/EPC industry is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

- Lead end-to-end procurement of construction materials, MEP items, equipment, machinery, and subcontract services.
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
- Float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, and prepare techno-commercial comparative statements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and commercial conditions.
- Ensure procurement delivers maximum value while maintaining quality and project timelines.

Vendor Development & Contract Management

- Develop, evaluate, and maintain an approved vendor database.
- Identify and onboard new vendors based on quality, pricing, capability, and compliance.
- Finalize suppliers through technical and commercial evaluations.
- Prepare, review, and issue Purchase Orders (POs), Work Orders (WOs), and procurement contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance.

Project Procurement Coordination

- Coordinate with Project Managers, Planning, Engineering, QA/QC, Stores, and Site Teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely material availability to avoid project delays.
- Resolve urgent procurement requirements, shortages, and material substitutions.
- Track procurement schedules and monitor vendor deliveries.

Commercial & Cost Control

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Prepare procurement MIS reports, cost analyses,



and savings reports.
- Monitor procurement budgets and expenditure.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project budgets.

Finance & Compliance

- Coordinate with Finance for invoice verification, GRN matching, and vendor payments.
- Verify supplier invoices against Purchase Orders and Goods Receipt Notes.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and statutory procurement requirements.
- Maintain procurement documentation for internal and external audits.

Leadership & Process Improvement

- Lead and mentor the procurement team.
- Improve procurement systems, vendor performance, and purchasing processes.
- Establish procurement KPIs and monitor performance.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers and project stakeholders.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of construction materials, MEP products, and procurement practices.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations.
- Experience in contract management and commercial negotiations.
- Solid cost analysis and budgeting skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Advanced Excel and procurement MIS reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong documentation and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory procurement compliance.

Preferred Experience

- 8 to 12 years of procurement experience in Construction, Infrastructure, or EPC companies.
- Experience handling large-value project procurement.
- Strong network of construction material suppliers and subcontractors.
- Exposure to multi-project procurement environments.
- Experience managing procurement teams.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Business Administration / Supply Chain Management.
- MBA in Supply Chain Management or Operations will be an added advantage.

Mandatory Requirement

- Candidates with experience only in Construction / Infrastructure / EPC Industry should apply.
