Role Summary
The Data Analyst will support data science delivery for nxzen's critical national infrastructure clients across energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors in the UK, Australia, and internationally. You will apply analytics and statistical methods to real operational problems, contributing to predictive modelling, reporting, and visualisation under the guidance of senior team members.
Based in nxzen's Global Capability Centre in Bangalore or Hyderabad, you will work within the Data & AI practice, delivering analytical and predictive solutions for critical national infrastructure operators.
This is an early-career, hands-on technical role focused on building solid technical foundations through practical delivery. You will write code, perform data analysis, build predictive models, prepare datasets, create dashboards, and continuously learn from senior Data Scientists and AI leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply predictive analytics and statistical models for asset risk scoring, predictive maintenance, leak and outage prediction, and demand forecasting.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, and data quality assessment on operational, geospatial, SCADA, IoT, asset, and financial datasets.
- Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or equivalent BI tools.
- Support Machine Learning model development, including data preparation, feature engineering, training, and validation.
- Contribute to Generative AI initiatives including Prompt Engineering, basic RAG pipelines, and LLM evaluation.
- Support deployment of analytical models using MLOps pipelines, version control, and monitoring.
- Develop SQL queries and collaborate with Data Engineers to build reliable analytical pipelines.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, model outputs, and maintain clean, well-commented code.
- Apply Responsible AI principles including explainability, bias awareness, and model governance.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, technical reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Collaborate with onshore delivery teams and clients across global locations.
- Continuously build expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and the Energy & Utilities domain.
What We're Looking For
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Master's degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, or related roles.
Technical Skills
- Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly)
- SQL
- Statistics (Regression, Hypothesis Testing, Time-Series Analysis)
- Power BI / Tableau
- Machine Learning fundamentals
- Git & Version Control
- Cloud Platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Basic MLOps concepts
- Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek, Gemma, Qwen)
- Basic understanding of RAG, NLP, Computer Vision, Time-Series Forecasting
- Apache Spark, Airflow, Databricks, Azure Data Factory or dbt (preferred)
