Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer - Manual with a strong background in Functional Testing and deep expertise in Database Testing. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring end-to-end quality by validating both application functionality and data integrity across complex systems. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop,



and execute Functional, Regression, Integration, and System test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform Database/Backend Testing, including data validation, schema verification, stored procedures, triggers, and data migration testing.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data accuracy and business logic.
- Validate end-to-end application workflows across UI, API, and Database layers.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to understand requirements and create effective test scenarios.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Estimate testing effort and support release planning activities.
- Contribute to test automation initiatives for UI, API, and database validation where applicable.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in functional and database testing.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong expertise in Functional and Database Testing.
- Proficiency in functional testing techniques, including Positive & Negative Testing, Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Partitioning (EP), Regression, Integration, System Testing, and UAT.




- Strong SQL skills, including Joins, Subqueries, Aggregate Functions, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Indexes, and Constraints.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Good understanding of ETL Testing, Data Warehousing, and Data Validation concepts.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Rally, or ALM.
- Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and Playwright is an added advantage.
- AI exposure (Cursor, Claude, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Software Testing with strong expertise in Functional and Database Testing.
