Role Overview:

The Head of Broadcasting and Streaming in Hyderabad will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of broadcasting operations, streaming technologies, and infrastructure support for the global DAZN service. This role demands both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to ensure a seamless streaming experience for our customers worldwide.

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end broadcasting operations, developing infrastructure and technologies to deliver live sports content, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our streaming services in a rapidly growing market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Broadcast Operations:
- Lead the broadcasting and streaming operations, ensuring high-quality, uninterrupted service delivery across live sports events and on-demand content.
- Oversee the management of live broadcasts, VOD processing, and transmission paths.
- Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure optimal content delivery performance.

- Streaming Technology:

- Manage streaming technologies including CDN (Content Delivery Network) integration, encoding, and transcoding workflows.
- Lead initiatives around video compression techniques and video quality enhancements to improve user experience.
- Ensure the streaming platform is scalable to handle peak loads during major sporting events.

- Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and broadcasting experts in the HYDB office.
- Drive the recruitment and training of top talent in broadcasting,



ensuring continuous upskilling and development of staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across the team to drive performance and innovation.

- Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership:

- Work closely with global teams, including Product, Technology, Content, and Customer Support to align on business goals and deliver seamless service.
- Partner with the Content Acquisition and Legal teams to ensure broadcast rights are aligned with technical capabilities and compliance standards.

- Operational Efficiency & Innovation:

- Drive initiatives to automate broadcasting processes and optimize workflows to increase operational efficiency.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies to implement innovations that can enhance DAZNs broadcasting capabilities.

- Customer Experience & Reliability:

- Own the customer experience from a streaming and broadcasting perspective, ensuring low latency and high-resolution video streaming with minimal disruptions.
- Work closely with the Customer Experience team to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

- Data & Performance Monitoring:

- Use data analytics and real-time monitoring to evaluate the performance of the streaming services and broadcasting infrastructure.
- Implement KPIs to track the performance of video quality, load times, buffering, and other key metrics, continually optimising the service.

- Regulatory & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all broadcasting regulations, particularly as DAZN expands its services in new regions.




- Coordinate with legal and broadcasting teams to ensure adherence to regional laws around content broadcasting and licensing.

Required Experience and Skills:

- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in broadcasting and streaming technologies, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale broadcasting operations, particularly live sports events.
- Strong understanding of OTT streaming platforms, CDN architecture, and broadcasting technology.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in streaming technologies such as MPEG-DASH, HLS, CMAF, HEVC, and video encoding/transcoding solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure for video streaming (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
- Strong understanding of network delivery protocols and video compression techniques.

- Leadership:

- Proven experience building and leading technical teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with global stakeholders.

- Problem Solving:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.

- Communication:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex technical issues to non-technical teams.

- Language Skills:

- Fluency in English is required, additional languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in media or sports industries.
- Experience in launching and scaling broadcasting infrastructure in new regions.
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in India and Saudi Arabia around broadcasting licenses.
