Overview

An Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) plays a crucial role in healthcare billing by managing, analyzing, and collecting outstanding payments from insurance companies. They are responsible for reviewing denied or pending claims, ensuring accurate documentation, and following up on accounts to maximize reimbursement

Core Job Responsibilities

- AR Follow-up & Calling: Making calls to insurance payers (via phone, IVR, or web portals) to check claim status and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Denial Management: Analyzing denial reasons, identifying discrepancies, and initiating appeals or rebilling to resolve unpaid claims.
- Account Analysis: Conducting pre-call analysis on claims to determine the next steps and ensure timely payments within set turnaround times (TAT).
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of all insurance communications and claim actions in the billing system.
- Collaboration: Working with medical coding and billing teams to rectify errors causing rejections.

Required Skill Set

- Knowledge of RCM: Strong understanding of US healthcare revenue cycle, including medical billing and reimbursement processes.
- UB04: Should have strong understanding of UB04 Forms.
- Payer Knowledge: Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid,



and commercial insurance payers.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English skills for international calling, with experience in voice-based customer service often preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large amounts of data to find payment patterns or reasons for non-payment.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and electronic health record (EHR) systems

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Graduate in any discipline.
- Experience: Ranging from freshers (Associate Analyst/Apprentice roles) to 1-7 years of experience for senior roles.
- Shifts: Often requires working in 24/7 rotational shifts, typically supporting US business hours.
