Database Architect

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with 812 years of expertise in designing, developing, optimizing, and managing enterprise-grade database solutions.

The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, NoSQL document models, MongoDB Query Language (MQL), database performance tuning, scalability strategies, and ETL/data migration processes.

The role requires deep technical expertise in both MongoDB and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), preferably PostgreSQL, to build highly available, scalable, and high- performance database solutions that support mission-critical business applications. The successful candidate will work closely with application developers, architects, and DevOps teams to design efficient database architecture, optimize queries, implement indexing strategies, automate data migration pipelines, and ensure database reliability, security, and scalability across enterprise environments

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable database solutions using MongoDB and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Develop and manage NoSQL document data models, ensuring efficient schema design aligned with application requirements and business needs.
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex MongoDB Query Language (MQL) queries, aggregation pipelines, and CRUD operations for high-performance data access.
- Design, implement, and optimize different types of MongoDB indexes, including Single Field, Compound, Multikey, Text, Geospatial, TTL, Sparse, Partial, and Hashed indexes to improve query performance.
- Analyze query execution plans and continuously optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing performance tuning strategies.
- Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines, batch processing workflows, and automated data migration solutions for seamless movement of data across multiple systems.
- Perform data transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation during migration activities while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Design and implement scalable MongoDB architectures utilizing sharding, and replication techniques for high availability and fault tolerance.
- Monitor database health, storage utilization, indexing efficiency,



query execution, and system performance to proactively resolve issues.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and database objects in relational databases to maximize application performance.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to define database requirements and implement efficient data access strategies.
- Participate in database architecture reviews and recommend best practices for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Implement database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure database security through user access management, authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot production database issues, identify root causes, and implement long term solutions to improve database stability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including schema designs, migration procedures, performance reports, and operational guidelines.
- Support deployment activities, database version upgrades, and environment migrations across development, testing, and production environments.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies, MongoDB enhancements, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

- 812 years of experience in database development and administration. • Proven hands-on expertise with MongoDB in enterprise-scale production environments.
- Strong experience working with NoSQL document models and MongoDB schema design.
- Extensive experience writing and optimizing MongoDB Query Language (MQL) queries and aggregation pipelines.
- Deep understanding of various MongoDB index types and their practical implementation for performance optimization.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing MongoDB scalability solutions, including replication, sharding, and high availability.



• Strong expertise in database performance optimization across both MongoDB and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience developing ETL pipelines, batch processing frameworks, and data migration solutions for large datasets.
- Experience designing and developing relational databases with strong proficiency in SQL.
- Preferred experience with PostgreSQL database design, development, optimization, and administration.
- Strong understanding of database normalization, indexing, query execution plans, transaction management, and data integrity.
- Experience troubleshooting complex database issues in production environments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams.

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

- Robust expertise in MongoDB architecture, administration, and development.

• In-depth understanding of NoSQL document modeling and schema design principles.

- Advanced knowledge of MongoDB Query Language (MQL) and Aggregation Framework.
- Extensive experience implementing and optimizing various MongoDB indexing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB scalability techniques, including replication, sharding, horizontal scaling, and high availability.
- Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale ETL pipelines, batch processing solutions, and large-scale data migration frameworks.
- Expertise in database performance tuning for both MongoDB and relational databases.

• Strong SQL development skills with PostgreSQL preferred

. • Experience in relational database design, normalization, denormalization, and schema optimization.

• Knowledge of query optimization techniques, execution plans, and indexing strategies in RDBMS.

- Familiarity with backup, recovery, monitoring, and database maintenance best practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
