Role & responsibilities
Devika Multispeciality Hospital & Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Senior MRI and CT Technologist for its advanced diagnostic centre at SR Nagar, Hyderabad.
The selected candidate will be responsible for independently operating MRI and CT equipment, maintaining image quality, ensuring patient safety and supporting efficient day-to-day modality operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently perform routine and advanced MRI examinations under approved protocols.
- Properly plan sequences, planes, field of view, slice thickness and coverage according to the clinical indication.
- Optimise sequences to reduce motion, susceptibility, wrap-around and other technical artefacts.
- Perform MRI brain, spine, joints, abdomen, pelvis, MRCP, angiography and other routine studies.
- Independently perform routine CT examinations and assist with contrast-enhanced CT studies.
- Position patients correctly and obtain diagnostically adequate images with minimum repeat acquisition.
- Screen all MRI patients for implants, metallic foreign bodies, pregnancy, claustrophobia and other safety risks.
- Follow strict MRI-zone access, magnet-safety and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate with the radiologist for protocol modification in complex or unusual cases.
- Monitor machine-room temperature, humidity, chiller status, UPS, electrical supply and equipment alarms.
- Maintain daily equipment, temperature, humidity, QA, breakdown and service logs.
- Perform approved daily and periodic quality-control checks.
- Ensure coils, injector accessories, patient-monitoring equipment and emergency equipment remain functional and properly stored.
- Immediately report abnormal equipment readings, cooling-system issues, helium-related alerts, image-quality deterioration or machine malfunction.
- Coordinate with the equipment service engineer for preventive maintenance and breakdown rectification.
- Maintain modality cleanliness and ensure safe handling of coils and accessories.
- Support contrast-study workflow,
cannulation coordination, patient observation and emergency preparedness.
- Supervise and train junior MRI/CT technicians.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, study labelling, image transfer to PACS and completion of examination records.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, attendants, radiologists and referring clinicians.
- Be willing to work according to the centres duty roster and provide after-hours coverage when required.
Preferred candidate profile
- BSc in Radiology and Imaging Technology, BSc Medical Imaging Technology, Diploma in Radiology/Imaging Technology or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on MRI experience.
- Strong independent competency in MRI sequence planning is essential.
- CT operating experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with a 1.5 Tesla MRI system is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRI safety, contrast safety and emergency procedures.
- Ability to identify and correct common MRI and CT artefacts.
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS and DICOM workflow.
- Experience maintaining temperature, humidity, QA and machine-monitoring logs.
- Ability to manage high patient volumes without compromising image quality.
- Candidates with experience in advanced diagnostic centres or hospitals will be preferred.
- Responsible, punctual and willing to take operational ownership of the modality.
