Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Head – Logistics to lead and manage the end-to-end logistics and distribution function for a rapidly growing nutraceutical manufacturing organization. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring seamless movement of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, exports, imports, warehousing, transportation, inventory optimization, and regulatory compliance while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food ingredients, herbal extracts, or FMCG manufacturing logistics with expertise in domestic and international supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Strategy & Operations

- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with organizational business objectives.
- Manage end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Ensure timely movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods across manufacturing units and distribution centers.
- Optimize transportation routes, freight costs, and delivery schedules.
- Drive logistics excellence through continuous process improvements and automation.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

- Oversee warehouse operations ensuring compliance with GMP, GDP, and company quality systems.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Ensure proper storage, handling,



FEFO/FIFO implementation, and inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate periodic inventory audits and stock reconciliation.

Distribution & Customer Deliveries

- Ensure timely dispatch of domestic and international customer orders.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production Planning, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to meet delivery commitments.
- Monitor order fulfillment KPIs and improve customer satisfaction levels.

Export & Import Logistics

- Handle international shipments including documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, GST, and applicable export regulations.

Vendor & Transport Management

- Develop strategic relationships with logistics service providers.
- Negotiate transportation contracts and freight rates.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on service quality, turnaround time, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Compliance & Quality

- Ensure adherence to GMP, GDP, FSSAI, ISO, WHO, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain logistics documentation and audit readiness.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

Cost Optimization





- Identify opportunities for reducing logistics costs.
- Improve warehouse utilization and transportation efficiency.
- Monitor logistics budgets and control operational expenses.

Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor warehouse, dispatch, and logistics teams.
- Establish performance metrics and drive operational excellence.
- Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
- MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management preferred.
- Certifications in Logistics, Six Sigma, Lean, or SAP will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 15–20 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in Nutraceutical, API, Food Ingredients, Herbal Extracts, or FMCG manufacturing is highly preferred.
