Primary Skills

- Japanese Minimum requirement of Japanese language proficiency at the JLPT N3 level or higher

- Design, build, enhance, and maintain robust mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM).

- Analyze complex business requirements and architect scalable technical solutions.

- Lead code reviews, set coding standards, and oversee the output of junior developers.

- Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain mainframe programs to ensure performance and reliability.

- Strong familiarity with debugging tools (like: File-Aid, Xpeditor, Abend-AID), schedulers, and source/version control (Endevor or Changeman).

- Deep analytical and troubleshooting skills for production, performance, and reliability issues.

- Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile processes

- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certified at N3 or above.

Secondary Skills

- Experience in Assembler, mainframe migration, DevOps, or cloud modernization initiatives.

- Expertise in advanced DB2 tuning, batch optimization, or automation (REXX, MQ, scripting).

- Demonstrated leadership in mentorship, process improvement, and stakeholder management and positive grasp of AI concepts
