EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience/training
- 4+ years of experience in Java building web applications in a J2EE Workplace
- Experience in application development, testing, implementation and documentation of web-based applications using Java
- Experience in J2EE development including Spring, REST, Eclipse, Git, SQL, Kafka.
- Experience defining tables and creating SQL queries using Postgres/Oracle (preferred) or another database platform.
- Implement backend APIs using RESTful principles and Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Hands on experience designing, developing, and maintaining event driven systems using Kafka.
- Ensure seamless integration with frontend systems, databases, and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues.
- Prior exposure to Grafana for metrics visualization, alerting, and performance monitoring is an added advantage.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the backend codebase.
- Experience creating and configuring deployments in Jenkins
- Experience with Cloud, OpenShift is preferred
