Manager Power Electronics Quality Control & Assurance (E-Bus & E-Truck Manufacturing)

Position: Manager Power Electronics Quality Control & Assurance

Job Purpose

Lead the quality assurance and quality control activities for power electronics systems, ensuring reliable, protected, and compliant products throughout the product lifecycle in electric bus and truck manufacturing.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead quality assurance for Traction Inverters, Motor Controllers, BMS, OBC, DC-DC Converters, HV Junction Boxes, and power distribution systems.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection procedures, control plans, and quality documentation.
- Ensure incoming inspection and supplier quality approval for electrical and electronic components.
- Drive APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA implementation.
- Lead in-process quality control and final product inspection to achieve zero-defect manufacturing.
- Monitor production quality KPIs including PPM, FPY, COPQ, rework, and warranty claims.
- Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA methodologies.
- Resolve customer complaints, field failures, and warranty issues related to power electronics systems.
- Plan and execute validation, reliability, functional, and environmental testing for high-voltage systems.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AIS, CMVR, IEC, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Lead supplier quality audits, process audits, product audits,



and internal quality audits.
- Collaborate with R&D;, Manufacturing, Purchase, Service, and Supplier Development teams during new product development.
- Drive localization quality, engineering change management (ECN), and new product introduction (NPI).
- Ensure adherence to high-voltage safety standards and ESD control practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke.
- Develop supplier performance scorecards and improvement plans.
- Mentor and develop quality engineers and inspectors to build technical capability.
- Support regulatory homologation and customer quality requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports, quality dashboards, and management review presentations.
- Optimize quality cost while improving product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

- 10–15 years in automotive quality, with 5+ years in EV power electronics quality within E-Bus, E-Truck, EV OEMs, or Tier-1 suppliers.
