Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Android Application Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development, modernization, and maintenance of enterprise mobile applications.

As a service-based technology company, we work across different client projects, business domains, and technical environments. The selected candidate should be adaptable, technically versatile, and comfortable taking ownership of applications based on evolving client and business requirements.

Our current Android project includes a mature production application with real-time communication, payment and subscription workflows, third-party SDK integrations, and smart connected device integrations. The existing codebase is approximately 70% Java and 30% Kotlin, with an ongoing initiative to gradually modernize and migrate the application to Kotlin while maintaining application stability and production quality.

We strongly encourage developers who are comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to improve development productivity, code understanding, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and overall engineering efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java and Kotlin, a solid understanding of modern Android development practices, and the ability to independently understand and take ownership of complex production applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance native Android applications.
- Lead and contribute to the gradual migration of existing Android applications from Java to Kotlin.
- Work effectively within mixed Java and Kotlin codebases.
- Understand and take ownership of large, existing, and legacy production codebases.
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party SDKs and external services.
- Support real-time video and communication features using SDKs such as Zoom Android SDK.
- Develop and maintain payment and subscription workflows using Stripe Android SDK.
- Integrate and support Bluetooth, BLE, IoT, smart, and connected devices based on project requirements.
- Design and maintain scalable application components using MVVM architecture and Android Jetpack components.
- Utilize Kotlin Coroutines, LiveData,



and ViewModel to build efficient and maintainable applications.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support code analysis, development, debugging, refactoring, test creation, and technical documentation.
- Review and validate AI-generated code before incorporating it into production applications.
- Ensure application performance, stability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards and overall code quality.
- Identify, manage, and reduce technical debt.
- Collaborate closely with backend developers, QA engineers, product teams, project managers, and client stakeholders.
- Adapt to different client projects, business domains, technologies, and evolving technical requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on experience in native Android application development.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and Kotlin.
- Experience working with mixed Java and Kotlin codebases.
- Experience with Java-to-Kotlin migration or application modernization projects.
- Strong understanding of the Android SDK, application lifecycle, and Android architecture principles.
- Hands-on experience with MVVM architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, LiveData, and ViewModel.
- Experience with Android Jetpack components.
- Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs, libraries, and external services.
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs using Retrofit and JSON.
- Proficiency with Git, Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience maintaining and supporting complex production-level Android applications.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar applications, technical requirements, and existing codebases.

- Knowledge of mobile application security, data encryption, and privacy best practices.
- Exposure to Jetpack Compose.
- Experience working with enterprise or client-facing mobile applications.
- Experience in a service-based or consulting environment with multiple client projects.

Work Mode

This position is currently remote. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with distributed engineering, QA, product, and client teams in a work from home environment.
