Role & responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation

- Configure and prepare CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders, routers) before starting production runs.
- Load raw materials safely onto the machine beds or bar feeders.
- Install and secure required tools, blocks, collets, and attachments.
- Input code or load pre-written G-code programs into the machine control panel.
- Run test pieces to verify program instructions and tool paths before bulk manufacturing.

Quality Control

- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to find required dimensions.
- Inspect parts during and after production runs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and verniers to check precision.




- Adjust machine offsets and parameters to fix dimensions when deviations happen.

Maintenance & Safety

- Perform daily maintenance including cleaning chips, checking oil levels, and refilling coolant.
- Change worn tool inserts and report major hardware or tooling issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain safety standards by wearing PPE, utilizing machine guards, and keeping a tidy workspace.
- Log machine data including production counts, scrap rates, and equipment checks.
