- Information Systems Security work focuses on preventingIT-based crime, hacking, intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure,or destruction to an organization''s information systems and IT assets andintellectual property including:
- Designing, testing, and implementing secureoperating systems, networks, and databases
- Password auditing, network based and Web application basedvulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection
- Conducting risk audits and assessments, providingrecommendations for application design
- Monitoring and analyzing system access logs Planning forsecurity backup and system disaster recovery
- Experienced Specialist in one specialized discipline as wellas having a thorough understanding of related disciplines




- Will most often be a driving force behind the development ofnew solutions for programs, complex projects, processes or activities
- Serves as final decision/opinion maker in the area, coaches,mentors and trains others on the area of expertise
- Ensures the implementation of short to medium termactivities within the business area OR support sub-function in the context ofthe strategy for the department
- Ensures appropriate policies, processes & standards aredeveloped and implemented to support short to medium term tactical direction
- Leads a team of Specialists ,sometimes with severalhierarchical levels, with full employee lifecycle responsibility.
