Job Summary
The Assistant Manager / Manager Treasury & Accounts Payable is responsible for managing daily treasury operations, bank account administration, liquidity planning, cash flow management, and end-to-end supplier payment processing. The role ensures timely vendor payments, effective cash management, compliance with internal controls and banking regulations, and seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Treasury Operations
- Monitor daily bank balances and prepare daily cash position reports.
- Manage fund transfers through NEFT, RTGS, SWIFT, intercompany transfers, and investment placements.
- Execute daily cash pooling, liquidity management, and cash flow forecasting activities.
- Monitor short-term and long-term cash flow requirements to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Finance team.
- Maintain banking documentation, authorized signatories, and banking user access controls.
- Monitor interest rates, banking charges, and identify opportunities to optimize banking costs.
- Coordinate with banking partners for account opening/closure, KYC updates, credit facilities, and treasury-related products and services.
- Support foreign exchange (FX) transactions and treasury activities, where applicable.
2. Supplier Payment & Accounts Payable Operations
- Process vendor invoices for payment in accordance with company policies and approved payment cycles.
- Verify supporting documents, approvals, tax compliance, and PO/GRN matching prior to payment processing.
- Schedule and execute domestic and international supplier payments through appropriate payment channels.
- Maintain accurate vendor master data and ensure correct payment methods (ACH, Wire Transfer, NEFT/RTGS, Cheque, etc.).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment-related queries promptly.
- Monitor advance payments, vendor debit balances, and statutory deductions such as TDS and GST, wherever applicable.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, payment forecasting, ageing analysis, and AP reconciliations.
- Perform AP invoice booking (MIRO) in SAP as required.
3. Compliance, Controls & Reporting
- Ensure all treasury and payment transactions comply with company policies, internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare treasury MIS reports, including:
- Daily cash position
- Liquidity forecasts
- Cash inflow/outflow reports
- FX exposure reports
- Banking utilization reports
- Support statutory, internal, and external audits by providing the required documentation and reconciliations.
- Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives across treasury and accounts payable operations.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, Tax, and business teams for payment approvals and issue resolution.
- Liaise with banks, vendors, auditors, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth treasury and payment operations.
- Support ERP and Treasury Management System (TMS) enhancements, implementation, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of treasury operations, banking processes,
cash management, liquidity planning, and payment systems.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Sound knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, invoice processing, vendor payment cycles, and accounting principles.
- Experience in bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and treasury reporting.
- Working knowledge of foreign exchange (FX) transactions and hedging concepts is desirable.
- Good understanding of statutory compliance related to TDS, GST, and banking regulations.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- MBA (Finance) or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in Treasury Operations, Accounts Payable, Banking, or Corporate Finance.
- Proven experience in managing treasury activities, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and supplier payment operations.
- Experience working in SAP ERP is essential.
- Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or industrial organizations will be an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
The following certifications are desirable but not mandatory:
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
- CFA Level I or above
- NIBM Treasury & Banking Certification
