Role & responsibilities

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage all production activities of the plant, which includes fertiliser, SAP, PAP, POP, CPP, Offsite, Zypmite, and Bagging, ensuring secure, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant operations while achieving production, quality, and business targets.

1. Production Planning & Operations

Develop and execute daily, monthly, and annual production plans.

Ensure achievement of production targets as per capacity and business requirements. Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, and raw materials. Minimise plant downtime and production losses.

2. Process & Performance Management

Monitor process parameters and plant performance.

Improve yield, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Lead troubleshooting and resolution of production issues.

Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

3. Cost & Productivity Improvement

Monitor production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Improve plant productivity, yield, and resource utilisation.

Drive operational excellence and lean manufacturing initiatives.

4. Inventory Management

Ensure accurate inventory management of raw materials, packing materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.

Monitor stock levels and maintain optimum inventory to support uninterrupted production.

Conduct periodic inventory verification and reconciliation.

Minimise inventory losses, wastage, and obsolete stock.

5. Quality Management





Ensure production of fertiliser products meeting quality specifications.

Coordinate with QA/QC teams to maintain product standards.

Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective actions.

6. Sales & Distribution (S&D;) Coordination

Work closely with Sales & Marketing teams to align production with market demand. Review sales forecasts and adjust production schedules accordingly. Support new product launches and promotional campaigns. Ensure the timely availability of products to meet customer requirements.

7. Dispatch Management

Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods as per customer commitments and sales plans. Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and dispatch teams for efficient vehicle planning. Monitor dispatch schedules and resolve bottlenecks affecting deliveries.

Ensure compliance with statutory and transportation requirements.

8. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and statutory regulations. Ensure Safety Standards in the production process.

Lead investigations of incidents and implement corrective actions.

9. Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop production teams.

Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Foster employee engagement and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred candidate profile

15+ years of working experience in Fertilizer manufacturing (Ammonia, Urea & Phosphates). Should have handled a team of mid level professionals. Well versed with TPM/TQM concepts and implementation
