Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks for our web applications and microservices. In this role, you will lead the quality assurance process by writing scalable automation scripts for both UI and API layers. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA teams within an Agile environment to ensure rapid, high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Framework Development & Scripting

- Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch using Core Java and Selenium WebDriver.(Mandatory)
- Build and optimize API automation suites utilizing Rest Assured for RESTful web services.(Mandatory)
- Implement design patterns like Page Object Model (POM) and Data-Driven testing to ensure code reusability.
- Develop BDD scenarios using Cucumber to bridge communication between technical and business teams.

Execution & Integration

- Integrate test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Configure build tools like Maven or Gradle to manage project dependencies and test execution.
- Manage code versions cleanly via Git, including branching, merging, and submitting pull requests.

Defect Management & Reporting

- Identify, log, and track software defects in tools like JIRA, providing detailed steps to reproduce.




- Analyze failed builds in CI/CD pipelines to isolate automation script issues from actual product defects.
- Generate clear test reports using tools like Extent Reports, Allure, or TestNG reporting features.

Required Technical Skills

Skills & Tools Required

Programming-Core Java (OOPs concepts, Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading)

UI Automation-Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, XPath/CSS Selectors, Handling dynamic elements.

API Automation- Rest Assured, Postman, JSON/XML parsing, HTTP status codes, payload validation

Test Frameworks-TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber BDD

Build & DevOps- Maven, Git/GitHub, Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms

Databases-SQL queries for backend data verification and test data setup

Professional Qualifications & Soft Skills

- Experience: 6 to 13 years of dedicated hands-on experience in software automation testing.
- Methodology: Strong foundational knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum processes.
- Problem Solving: Solid debugging and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex framework issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across multi-functional engineering teams.
