To be responsible for preparing the Business case for the cost out
projects
To lead the technical aspects and responsible in deliveries of the
Value Engineering activities and Design changes for the
PAC/DSU/VRF products
To conduct Tear down and Bench marking (competitive) to generate
the ideas for cost out
Robust expertise in Cost Estimation like material cost ,conversion cost /
Cycle Time Calculation of Mechanical Components like Sheet Metal,
Plastics, Die Cast & Machined Component
To prepare and present cost innovation ideas within team/ suppliers/
Purchase team
Identify the low-cost suppliers as an alternate
To follow up with purchase & supplier for cost input & ideas
To monitor product BOM regularly & control cost against target
To conduct cost design review meetings
Develop Cost effective models
To translate design concepts into realistic products that meet the
quality and product specification as well as cost down requirements,
budget, and timeline requirements
To lead the Value Engineering themes & executions
Bring innovation for time to market reduction and within the cost
targets
Comply with product development process and design standards

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
Qualification: B.E. Mechanical (Minimum)
Experience:



3 to 5 years of HVAC industry
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge on VAVE Methodology & Cost Analysis
Basic Knowledge of HVAC
Basic knowledge of GD&T; & CAD skill
Assembly part tolerance calculations
Knowledge of materials Sheet metal, Plastics, Aluminum, Copper, Brass,
Rubber and gaskets, Finish material
Knowledge of Manufacturing process Sheet metal processes like Punching
and bending, welding, brazing, Heat treatment, injection, machining.
Knowledge of cost estimation of parts.
Skills to carry out reverse engineering
Benchmarking study
Knowledge of materials and mechanical tests Salt spray, vibration, UV test,
Leakage test, flammability test, drop test and packaging tests
Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Good communication skills required. Should be good in team building
Strong passion and desire to execute projects on time
Accountability, Ownership & Responsibility
Basic BOM & SAP knowledge
