The role requires a strong technical foundation in injection moulding and extrusion processes, along with hands-on experience in both CAPEX and OPEX procurement. The position demands the ability to manage greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring seamless integration of machinery, utilities, and supporting infrastructure while maintaining optimal cost, performance, and long-term reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete CAPEX procurement lifecycle, including technical evaluation, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, and execution.
- Ensure timely delivery, installation, commissioning, and stabilization of machinery. Execute greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Drive value engineering initiatives and evaluate ROI, payback, and net gain/loss.
- Manage procurement of OPEX items, including spares, consumables, and MRO materials.
- Develop the vendor ecosystem through supplier identification, onboarding, and capability enhancement.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Finance, and Project teams.
Technical Background Requirement
The candidate should possess a strong background in injection moulding and extrusion processes, along with hands-on experience in both CAPEX and OPEX procurement related to polymer moulding machinery and associated equipment.
a) Chillers, Dryers, and Temperature Control Units
The candidate should have experience in the selection, procurement, and performance evaluation of process cooling and drying systems critical for maintaining polymer quality and cycle time efficiency.
Knowledge of capacity sizing, energy efficiency optimization,
and integration with moulding machines to ensure stable and consistent processing is essential.
b) Screw Barrels and Auxiliary Equipment
Hands-on experience in sourcing and evaluating screw barrels and auxiliary equipment used in injection moulding and extrusion processes, with a strong understanding of technical specifications, wear characteristics, and operational performance.
c) Compressors, Material Hoppers, and Mould Racks
Experience in procuring plant utility equipment and material handling systems, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing operations, operational efficiency, and maintenance requirements.
d) Tool Room Machines (CNCs, Grinders)
Strong experience in sourcing and evaluating precision machining equipment such as CNC machines and grinders.
The candidate should understand accuracy requirements, productivity parameters, and integration with tool room operations for mould manufacturing and maintenance.
e) Post-Moulding Equipment (Pad Printers, Laser Markers, Trimming Machines, Prototype Equipment)
The role requires familiarity with secondary processing equipment used for finishing and product identification processes, including printing, marking, trimming, and prototype development.
The candidate should have exposure to automation opportunities, quality requirements, and integration of these processes into the overall production flow and product development activities.
Project Procurement Experience Key Requirements
- Proven experience in handling project procurement for greenfield and brownfield projects,
ensuring seamless execution from concept to commissioning while meeting timelines, budgets, and operational requirements.
- Strong hands-on experience in civil and infrastructure procurement, including vendor selection, BOQ evaluation, and contract finalization for structural works.
- Experience in procurement and execution of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), including design coordination, vendor development, and execution planning.
- Proven capability in managing end-to-end CAPEX procurement cycles for plant projects, from requirement definition through commissioning.
- Ability to manage multi-vendor project environments, including contractor management, performance tracking, and resolution of execution challenges.
