Job Title: Project Engineer BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Engineer with hands-on expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Power Conversion Systems (PCS). The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end execution of EPC projects, from design and procurement to installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

1. BESS System Engineering & Integration

- Installation and commissioning of BESS containers, PCS, EMS, and auxiliary systems
- Troubleshooting of BESS, PCS, EMS, and related systems
- Configure PCS operating modes and ensure proper system functionality
- Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and lead SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
- Perform system integration, grid synchronization, and protection relay coordination
- Develop control strategies like:
- Peak shaving
- Load shifting
- Frequency regulation
- Energy arbitrage

- Ensure real-time monitoring, data logging, and remote system control
- Handle complete EPC lifecycle: design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and handover
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors (OEMs, contractors, grid authorities)
- Troubleshoot issues related to communication, power quality, and control logic
- Ensure compliance with safety and performance standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA)

2. Documentation & Compliance





- Prepare and review:
- SLD drawings
- Equipment specifications
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Installation manuals and O&M; procedures

- Ensure compliance with grid codes and regulatory standards
- Maintain proper documentation using MS Office and reporting tools

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- Experience:
- Senior Role: 5–7 years (with at least 6–12 months in BESS/renewable projects)
- Mid-Level Role: 2–4 years

- Experience in renewable energy / power sector
- Hands-on experience in EPC projects (Design to Commissioning)
- Strong understanding of BESS, EMS, PCS systems
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols
- Good problem-solving and team coordination skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites

Preferred (Good to Have)

- Experience in large-scale BESS projects (>10 MW)
- Knowledge of battery chemistries (LFP, NMC)
- Familiarity with standards: IEC 62933, IEEE 1547, UL 9540
- PMP or renewable energy certifications

Compensation & Benefits

- Senior Role Salary: Around 60,000/month (Negotiable)
- Mid-Level Salary: 40,000 – 50,000/month
