Senior Hardware Engineer / Technical Lead (Power Electronics | 8 10 Years)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of EV power systems, including onboard chargers (OBC), DC-DC converters, inverters, and charging infrastructure. This role demands robust technical expertise, system-level thinking, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Ownership
- Lead design of DC-DC, AC-DC (OBC), and inverter systems
- Define architecture, topology, and key design trade-offs
- Own schematics, PCB design reviews, and releases
Design & Analysis
- Perform switching loss calculations, thermal design, and magnetics design
- Work with SiC/GaN devices
- Optimize efficiency, power density, and cost
Simulation & Modeling
- Develop models using MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice
- Correlate simulation with hardware performance
Validation & Debugging
- Lead prototype bring-up and root cause analysis
- Debug EMI/EMC, switching, and thermal issues
- Define and execute validation plans
System Integration
- Collaborate with embedded, BMS, and charging teams
- Ensure seamless system-level integration
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, IEC 61851
- Awareness of ISO 15118 preferred
Required Skills
Technical Expertise
- Power topologies: Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC, Full-Bridge
- Devices: IGBT, MOSFET, SiC, GaN
- Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC, thermal management, and reliability
Tools & Hands-on
- PCB Design: Altium / OrCAD
- Simulation: MATLAB, PLECS, LTspice
- Lab: Oscilloscope, Power Analyzer
