Job Description for functional tester:
How you will make an impact:
1. Identifies and creates test assets and performs application testing.
2. Identifies, creates, and executes the appropriate Test Assets (plans, cases, scripts, metrics) for technical integrations and associated applications to assure the developed application conforms to requirements and design.
3. Coordinates/executes testing across multiple testing phases, including SIT, UAT, and Regression.
4. Defines appropriate testing methods to employ to assure developed application conforms to requirements and design.
5. Leads Peer Reviews to ensure the completeness of all Test Assets created.
6. Ensures all applicable SDLC and testing processes are followed.
7. Executes linkage from test plan to test scenarios and test cases.
8. Assists in the creation of or creates and communicates all testing deliverable(s) (MTP, TES, etc.
9. Identifies when test automation is appropriate.
10. Coordinates, identifies, and executes test cases.
11. Identifies, reports, and reviews defects in assessing application quality.

Identifies and collects Test Data for test execution.
13. Accountable for Test Data Management, collection of requirements, evaluation of available data in repositories, ID gaps, and owns test data provisioning tasks.
14. Exploratory testing when required to understand how functionality manifests itself to the customer.

Preferred Skillsets & Qualifications:

1. IT application testing experience is strongly preferred specifically for technical integrations and associated applications
1. Pega Experience, Oracle / SQL experience.
2. Health Insurance Industry Domain Knowledge is strongly preferred.
1. Claims processing knowledge is strongly preferred.
3. Familiarity with web testing, API and database testing is strongly preferred.
4. EDI 837 knowledge is a plus
5. Automation experience using Selenium is a plus.
6. Java program knowledge is a plus.
7. Oracle and SQL knowledge is strongly preferred.
8. Pega SCE (smart claim engine) experience is a plus.
9. Experience with Agile methodology is preferred.
