About the Role
Leap Agri Logistics is seeking an experienced Loading & Unloading Supervisor to oversee food grain handling operations at the rail terminal. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and effective loading and unloading of food grains from railway wagons while maintaining operational excellence, statutory compliance, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily loading and unloading operations of food grains from railway wagons, trucks, and storage areas.
- Coordinate with Indian Railways, contractors, transporters, warehouse teams, and terminal operations to ensure smooth rake handling.
- Ensure timely placement, unloading, and dispatch of railway wagons as per operational schedules.
- Monitor labour deployment and allocate manpower efficiently for each shift.
- Verify wagon numbers, seal conditions, material quantity, bag count, and documentation before and after operations.
- Ensure proper stacking, handling, and movement of food grain bags to prevent damage, pilferage, or losses.
- Maintain loading/unloading registers, daily operational reports, rake progress reports, and productivity records.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) of wagons and ensure completion within planned timelines.
- Coordinate with quality, warehouse, and dispatch teams for seamless material movement.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of railway siding, loading platform, and work areas.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.
- Report operational issues, shortages, damages, or delays to the Terminal Manager immediately.
- Support audits, stock verification, and statutory inspections.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, and railway operational guidelines. Proper supervision of wagon loading, unloading, documentation, and spillage control is essential in food grain logistics.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (Diploma candidates with relevant experience may also be considered).
- 3–6 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, railway siding, food grain handling, or bulk material operations.
- Experience in rail rake loading/unloading operations is highly preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of food grain logistics and railway wagon operations.
- Strong manpower handling and shift management skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory documentation and dispatch records.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and under operational deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in Food Corporation of India (FCI), CWC, SWC, rail terminals, grain warehouses, agri logistics, or bulk cargo handling.
- Knowledge of railway siding operations and contractor management.
- Experience in handling food grains, fertilizers, cement, or other bulk commodities.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor and warehouse/rail siding operations.
- Rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as per business requirements.
- Frequent field supervision and coordination with labour and transport teams.
