Job Summary

We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary academic leader to join our D.Y Patil Technical Campus, Varale, Talegaon as the Head of Department (HOD). The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for driving academic excellence, research, innovation, and industry collaboration. The HOD will be responsible for managing all academic, administrative, and developmental activities of the department while ensuring compliance with AICTE, UGC, and affiliating university norms. Eligibility requirements should align with the applicable AICTE regulations for faculty and leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership

- Lead and manage all academic activities of the department.
- Plan and implement curriculum delivery in accordance with university guidelines.
- Ensure effective teaching-learning processes and continuous academic improvement.
- Monitor faculty performance, student outcomes, and academic quality.

2. Department Administration

- Supervise departmental operations, faculty workload allocation, and timetable planning.
- Manage departmental budget, infrastructure, laboratories, and learning resources.
- Ensure maintenance of departmental records and documentation.
- Prepare reports for management, university, NBA, NAAC, and AICTE requirements.

3. Faculty Management

- Mentor, guide, and evaluate faculty members.
- Conduct faculty meetings and support professional development initiatives.
- Identify faculty training and research opportunities.
- Promote collaborative and high-performance work culture.

4. Student Development

- Monitor student academic progress and attendance.
- Guide students in projects, internships, placements, and higher education.
- Address student grievances and mentor students for academic success.
- Encourage participation in technical competitions, hackathons, and innovation activities.





5. Research & Innovation

- Promote research publications, patents, consultancy, and funded projects.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research and innovation.
- Build collaborations with industries, research organizations, and academic institutions.

6. Accreditation & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with AICTE, UGC, NBA, NAAC, and affiliating university norms.
- Lead accreditation documentation and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintain departmental SOPs, audit readiness, and statutory compliance.

7. Industry Relations

- Develop strong industry partnerships for internships, live projects, guest lectures, and placements.
- Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, seminars, conferences, and technical events.
- Strengthen departmental branding through academic and industry engagement.

Required Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech in the relevant Engineering discipline.
- Ph.D. in the relevant specialization is mandatory.
- Qualifications should meet AICTE eligibility norms applicable to the discipline and HOD position.

Experience

- Minimum 1015 years of teaching experience in AICTE-approved technical institutions.
- Prior experience as Head of Department / Professor / Associate Professor preferred.
- Experience in NBA/NAAC accreditation, curriculum planning, academic administration, and faculty management.
- Proven record of research publications in reputed journals, funded projects, patents, or consultancy assignments is desirable.
