About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Back-End Engineering Lead to design, develop, and deliver highly scalable and secure backend systems that power mobile applications across iOS and Android. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can work with engineering teams, set backend best practices, and ensure our mobile applications are supported by reliable, highperformance services.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in backend frameworks, distributed systems, API design, and cloud-native architectures, with a solid understanding of mobile client needs (React Native, Swift/Kotlin concepts) to build seamless integrations. You will work closely with mobile engineers, product managers, architects, and designers to create robust, efficient, and secure backend solutions while mentoring the backend team and driving engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications

- 8-10 years of professional experience in backend engineering, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Expertise in backend development using one or more languages: Java, Spring Boot, React Native, Microservices etc.,
- Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs for mobile applications and service orchestration.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture principles: microservices, event-driven systems, distributed computing.
- Experience with mobile-related backend considerations such as session management, push notification services, deep linking, and data synchronization.




- Proficiency in working with databases (Oracle DB, SQL/NoSQL), caching layers (Redis, Memcached), and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), CI/CD pipelines, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in debugging, performance tuning, logging, monitoring, and version control (Git).
- Robust understanding of security standards including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and API security best practices.
- Should be from Banking and Financial industry background and exposure to Oracle Banking products would be preferred.
- Should have the experience of Mobile Security and OWASP standards implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead backend engineering, promoting a culture of technical quality, ownership, and collaboration.
- Architect, design, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices that power mobile applications.
- Define and enforce backend coding standards, design patterns, and best practices.
- Collaborate with mobile engineers to ensure seamless integration of RESTful APIs, real-time services, and backend modules.
- Build and optimize high-performance, scalable systems capable of supporting large corporate banking customers
- Integrate third-party services, SDKs, authentication systems,



and cloud components.
- Oversee backend testing strategies including unit tests, integration tests, and load/performance testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues related to performance, scaling, and data consistency.
- Drive architecture discussions, code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional alignment.
- Ensure backend systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise governance and mobile application requirements.
- Contribute to the long-term backend architecture roadmap for mobile platforms.

Preferred Skills

- Experience supporting mobile ecosystems such as React Native, Android, and iOS from a backend perspective.
- Knowledge of real-time architectures (WebSockets, Pub/Sub).
- Familiarity with serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Experience with Firebase, AWS AppSync, Azure Mobile Apps, or similar backend-for-mobile services.
- Understanding of Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and SOLID principles.
- Experience with API gateway management, rate limiting, and traffic shaping.
