Job Summary

We are seeking a technically strong and customer-focused Application Engineer Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support the design, proposal, and technical evaluation of battery energy storage solutions for solar and hybrid power projects. The candidate will work closely with the sales, design, project execution, and procurement teams to deliver optimized technical solutions for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions for solar and hybrid power projects.
- Prepare technical proposals, system architecture, single-line diagrams (SLDs), BOMs, and sizing calculations.
- Perform battery sizing based on load profiles, backup requirements, and energy demand.
- Evaluate battery technologies such as Lithium-ion (LFP/NMC), Lead Acid, Flow Batteries, and emerging storage technologies.
- Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for technical specifications, quotations, and product selection.




- Support the sales team during customer meetings by providing technical presentations and solution recommendations.
- Review customer requirements, tender specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IS, IEEE, NEC, and other industry standards.
- Work closely with the design and execution teams during project implementation.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and troubleshooting of battery systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, datasheets, installation guidelines, and operation manuals.
- Coordinate with procurement for component selection and vendor evaluation.
- Stay updated with the latest battery technologies, energy management systems (EMS), PCS/Inverters, and market trends.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Understanding of Lithium-ion battery technologies (LFP, NMC), Battery Management Systems (BMS), PCS, EMS, and Hybrid Inverters.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems and grid-connected applications.
- Battery sizing and load analysis.
- Preparation of SLDs and electrical layouts.
- Knowledge of protection systems and electrical distribution.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, IS, and CEA standards.
- Valuable understanding of power electronics and electrical engineering principles.
- Excellent technical documentation and proposal preparation skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers.
