General Responsibilities
- Assist and coordinates in the process of recruitment by assessing the knowledge, skill and attitude of the candidates.
- Plan and conduct campus interview in coordination with HR
- Coordinates and conducts Virohan (Fortis new nurses induction) program to all the new joiners
- Plan and conducts mentor developing program
- Coordinates with L&D; and conducts CCDC program
- Analyze effectiveness of each training activity with pre and posttest results
- Identifies individual training need from the inputs of respective staffs ward nursing incharges and supervisors
- Makes Annual training calendar and monthly In-service education calendar and gets approval from CNO.
- Conducts all the training activities and celebration of health dates in compliance with the annual and monthly calendar planned.
- Plans and coordinates Top 10 module according to the training need analysis of each unit.
- Coordination with Nursing Incharges and completes privileging and competency assessment of staff.
- Actively involves in preparation, internalization and revision of SOPs and policies
- Tracking of outcome measures nursing quality indicators, infection control practices and escalate issues when required.
- Delivers competency-based programs for skill upgradation and knowledge retention.
- Coordination of Continuous Nursing Education (CNE) programs for skill enhancement.
- Staff Certification for successful completion of BLS and mandatory training programs.
- Productive member of Nursing Quality Improvement Committee and a member of other committees as directed by CNO with objective of patient care/safety and development of professional nursing practice.
- Maintenance of training records, competency assessment records /training needs of staff.
- Actively participates and plans for staff welfare programs along with the nursing leaders and HR
Nursing practice
- Nurse educators maintain current knowledge and skills in theory and practice, based on the best evidence available.
- Maintain competence in nursing practice.
- Practice nursing in ways that reflect evidence-based and current knowledge.
- Maintain a professional record (curriculum vitae, portfolio, etc.) that demonstrates current nursing and teaching competence in relevant areas of practice.
- Plan a variety of teaching and learning activities and experiences which support nursing practice and the health-care environment.
- Possess adequate knowledge and training on Hospital information system (OneFortis) and percolates the same to the staff nurses.
- Monitor the nursing documentation and identifies the training need of the nurses on appropriate documentation.
Teaching and learning in the clinical area
- Nurse educators create an environment for effective clinical teaching of nursing care.
- Facilitate a safe learning environment in the clinical setting.
- Foster individualized experiential learning.
- Facilitate clinical reasoning among diverse learners who may have different learning styles and unique learning needs.
- Plans and implements training activities to improve the safety and quality of nursing care to the patients.
- Encourage staff nurses to enroll and update their knowledge in various e-learning platform like Elsevier, Medscape, pubmed etc.
Educational theory and conceptual learning
- Nurse educators create an environment that facilitates theoretical and conceptual learning.
- Plan, select and/or design teaching and learning strategies, materials and resources to achieve educational goals and outcomes.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of a safe environment that is conducive to learning in theoretical (classroom/online) settings.
- Engage in ongoing critical reflection to generate and apply new ideas that contribute to the improvement of nursing education, practice and leadership.
- Demonstrates cultural competence in course design and development, teaching and nursing practice.
Integration of theory and practice
- Nurse educators foster the integration of theory into practice
- Implement a variety of effective teaching strategies that facilitate active learning across a range of educational and practice settings

- Nurse educators are responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and assessment of courses, training activities and staff enrolled.

- Evaluate own teaching competencies by seeking input from peers and students.

Preferred Education:
M.Sc. Nursing
Experience
M.Sc (N) with min of 5-7 years clinical experience (preferably in critical care unit)
