Role & responsibilities

1. Costing and Supplier Negotiation

- Expertise in ZBC (Zero-Based Costing) for fabricated parts, castings, forgings, machining, Rubber and plastic parts.
- Accurate estimation and negotiation of part costs with suppliers.
- Conclude cost agreements to achieve cost optimization goals.
- Supplier Nesting sheet to be verified with our Nesting sheet for major fabrication parts.
- Preparing the Nesting plan to optimise the raw material usage.

2. Supplier Management and Capacity Assessment

- Evaluate and maintain an effective supplier base aligned with organizational requirements.
- Assess supplier capacity and ensure scaling to meet budgeted production volumes.
- Develop relationships to ensure consistent quality and performance.
- Cycle time study for all major fabrication parts.

3. Commodity and Cost Trends Monitoring

- Monitor commodity price trends and renegotiate costs with suppliers accordingly.
- Capturing physical inventory of RM, WIP & FG stock at supplier end to update the prices in SAP.
- Update revised costs in SAP promptly and accurately.
- Price Approval through mail from HOD.
- Preparation of Price Sanction Form & Updating of price in Ajax Portal.

Strategic Sourcing and Cost Reduction

- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to meet cost-reduction objectives.
- Collaborate on action plans to optimize procurement efficiency.
- Cost reduction through change in manufacturing process.

5. New Product Development and Supplier Collaboration

- Coordinate with SQA team for development of new parts for assigned projects or recent products.
- Coordinate with SQA team & Develop jigs and fixtures at supplier locations to ensure consistent quality.

6. Process Optimization

- Reduce order-to-receipt cycle time through process improvements.
- Optimize inventory and reduce associated costs.
- Logistics Optimization.

7. Tooling Management

- Price Finalization of Fixtures, Gauges & Templates.
- Coordination with Engineering & Indirect Purchase team for creation of Part codes, PR & PO creation.
- Arranging Tool Holding Certificate from Suppliers and process payment.
- Monitoring the Asset by taking declaration from Tool Holders yearly basis.
