Job Description DevOps Engineer (Java Preferred)

Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong engineering fundamentals and Java development expertise to support and enhance enterprise-grade Data Protection and Data Scanning platforms. The role combines platform engineering, CI/CD automation, cloud deployment, and application development, with a focus on scalability, security, and operational excellence.

The candidate will work across on-premise and cloud environments (OpenShift) to design, build, and support highly resilient DevOps pipelines and data scanning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps & Platform Engineering (Primary Focus)

- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, scalable deployments across environments
- Build and enhance DevOps frameworks for release management, monitoring, and operational control
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment workflows, and operational tasks
- Drive containerized deployments using Kubernetes/OpenShift and integrate with cloud platforms
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (e.g., Splunk)
- Ensure compliance with enterprise change, incident, and release management processes
- Support production operations, including incident management and performance tuning
- Define and implement runbooks, SOPs, and operational governance frameworks

Application Development (Java-Focused)

- Develop and enhance backend services using Java / J2EE technologies
- Build integrations between security/data platforms and enterprise systems
- Contribute to design, code reviews, and architecture discussions
- Apply Spring Framework and modern development patterns
- Support test-driven development (TDD) and maintain high-quality code standards.





Data Platform & Security Engineering

- Support data scanning platforms (e.g., BigID) and related integrations
- Evaluate and onboard new tools aligned to business and regulatory needs
- Implement solutions for structured and unstructured data scanning
- Ensure security, privacy, and control compliance in all platform implementations
- Required Skills & Qualifications

Core DevOps Skills (Critical)

- Strong experience with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, TeamCity
- Hands-on experience with containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
- Experience in configuration management & automation: Ansible
- Expertise in cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP
- Working knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk)
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and release processes

Preferred Skills

- Experience with BigID or similar data scanning tools
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum ceremonies)
- Exposure to frontend technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
- Strong automation mindset with focus on engineering productivity

Experience

- Have 6 – 8 years’ experience managing enterprise-grade DevOps platforms in regulated environments
- Robust exposure to cloud-based platform engineering and deployment architectures
